And I was the Lamb...

And I Was The Lamb....
When will I ever stop falling in love with the idea of you?
I never seemed to realize the monster you are,
I just saw the prince charming I created in my dreams.
I molded the shell of you
And filled you with what I thought you should be.
I never fell in love with you,
Just who I thought you were.

I was the lamb who fell in love with the wrong lion.
Lured in by false securities
And your soothing lullabies of lies.
Only to realize the trap I had fallen into,
And the teeth that gleamed from beneath the mask that you wore.

You caged me in as you wrapped me in your arms
And prepared to devour every inch of my body and soul
With your eager hands and anxious lips.

You whispered your desires in my ear,
I heard the fire in your voice and let the growls fall on deaf ears.

I ignored the stories your face told,
And listened to the lies that you drenched me in.

I followed you as you led me to walk beneath the midnight sky,
Showing me the beauty of my face bathed in the starlight of what could be.
All the while,
You searched my soul
In hopes of finding the weaknesses you used to manipulate me.

We settled by the fire while you cover me in your scorching kisses,
And search my body with your hands for all the right places.
Giving me exactly what I wanted
And taking everything else away from me,
But my thirst for you.

My thirst for you is the only love I have ever known,
I never loved you,
I loved the idea of you.
