I'm sick of waiting for the click-clack of train tracks to carry this heavy load,
It's cargo it never knows,
Met a stranger once,
Running to catch up at a crossroads,
Tail tucked between his pitiful, shaking legs,
While the gallows gave chase,
Hounds sniffing for a trace,
Only to be met with the tears of a summer rain.

Constructive Criticism
I've got this pressure in my chest,
A little beast that they call pride,
Rearing it's grotesque head,
Roaring just to prove he can,
All my insecurities dragging in tow,
On these chains I try to hide in my back pocket,
At times the weight drops me to my knees,
Small words rolling up my sleeves,
Bloodying my knuckles as my brain pleads,
"Please, just grow a thicker skin!"

Rearing it's grotesque head,
Roaring just to prove he can,
All my insecurities dragging in tow,
On these chains I try to hide in my back pocket,
At times the weight drops me to my knees,

Bloodying my knuckles as my brain pleads,
"Please, just grow a thicker skin!"

Unhinged
In hindsight, I would feel far more comfortable if the words had never left my lips,
The turning of a new leaf invites my mind to wander,
As its fallen companions take part in a lonely march on the autumn breeze,
Their pallet a colorful wash against the dull blue sky of me,
Routine has a way of dulling the edges and tearing at my seams,
What was once a solid vision is now fragmented,
A million shards beneath my feet,
I lost sight of me,
Lost sight of the shoreline,
Adrift without a sail,
For six long days and five long nights I sat alone, ...

Grinding the 2007
Its one in the morning,
And I don't wanna go home,
Laying in your driveway,
Talking bout when we were young,
Remembering the good times,
Cares lost to the world,
Except making it home for dinner,
And doing most of what we were told,
Cause we were just kids,
As awkward as could be,
I turned nine years old when you moved next door to me,
Blonde hair brighter then the heavens,
Blue eyes from a dream,
I hid my flushed face so that you wouldn't see,
That I thought you were the prettiest girl that I had ever seen, ...

Things Are Looking Grim
Hit the streets,
I got this look in my eye,
Feet on the ground,
Sights set on the sky,
I'll run until these long roads collide,
We'll meet in the middle,
At an intersection of misplaced words,
There's no need for introduction,
You've seen me before,
You tried to catch me but never could,
I know what you hide under that hood.
Till my heart bleeds out,
Or there's no breath in my lungs,
I'll thrive in the chase,
Cause time well spent is never a waste.
Dry bones, dry bones,
Catch me if you can,
It's nothing personal,...
I got this look in my eye,
Feet on the ground,
Sights set on the sky,
I'll run until these long roads collide,
We'll meet in the middle,

In My Day a Movie Only Cost a Nickle
Rough times are coming
Tough times have been had,
There’s no use crying
No reason to be sad,
For in the wake of every misfortune,
The sun will come out,
And many doors will be opened.
Tough times have been had,
There’s no use crying
No reason to be sad,
For in the wake of every misfortune,
The sun will come out,
And many doors will be opened.

Visions in the dark,
such a funny thing really,
that we can touch without ever truly feeling,
vibrant emotions pushed beneath the surface,
odds and ends,
bits and pieces,
with no realized purpose.
But every dream,
No matter how fleeting,
Keep troubled men sane,
And lovers hearts beating.

Blood Suckers
It's just a smile,
A sarcastic upturn of the lip,
This punchline lost its sharpness at the tip of my tongue,
I've been bit,
I've been bit,
Spewing hot venom,
I'll lap up every word,
A forked road,
A forked tongue,
This is my liberation,
I'm cross eyed in contemplation,
If left is right,
And right is what's left,
Nothing I say will ever be blessed,
I'll take to the ground and writhe with the snakes,
Take a bite from an apple,
That's all it takes.

Tonight We Feast
Dressed to impress,
He steps in time with the beat,
Longing stares and unawares are the welcomes of the weak,
Eyes wide in the thrill of it all,
How quickly the sheep fall to the beast.
Hollow words fill empty hearts,
False wisdom he imparts,
With a suit of skin and a button up lie,
Save face,
Masks don't cry.
Chewed up and spit out,
With nothing to lose,
Blood pours from gaping wounds,
Anything to staunch the flow,
No telling how far they will go,
Wanting comfort from the pain,
The prey seeks out the beast in vain....

Standing Ovation
They are the masters of the string,
We are but puppets in a scene.
Hello, I can see you there,
An unwanted companion I can feel your glare,
If you call the shots,
Then throw me off the edge,
I want your voices out of my head.
Out of control,
Out of mind,
If I had a voice would it be mine
Just cut me loose,
Just set me free,
Please, oh God, just let me be.
Just the martyrs of an unseen campaign,
To gouge out our eyes and sculpt our brains,
If we are just puppets,
And they are just hands,
Becomes self...
We are but puppets in a scene.

From the Pew
I tried to twist my head around a junkies decision,
to say fuck you to the world you can keep on livin,
your jobs mean nothing your money means less,
anointed by a bottle half empty,
let it wash any thoughts from his head,
never mind that,
forget what I just said,
his only thought is he wishes to be dead,
oh my did I just pinch a nerve,
you think that’s more than he deserves,
you’re probably right,
I’m sorry I said it,
talk all you want but don’t expect me to bless it,
I drink a little too much I confess it.

Collateral Damage
In this painted landscape of you,
We are all just falling stars,
Crashing and burning into your atmosphere,
How many times will we let ourselves be shot down before we realize,
Realize there's a life outside those eyes,
Oh, ever so inviting,
I'm a lost cause,
A fucking lost cause,
She's already closed the doors,
Double checked the locks on my heart,
When I close my eyes I can feel her lips,
Forgetting her is out of the question,
She is my drug and I need my fix,
My one and only,
My last obsession.
