Heaven on Earth?
Naked
Lonely
Cast aside
To gnash teeth
….and to howl like the wind
Just a statistic
Forgotten like last years rain
This fall from grace
Won’t trigger any memory
Where is the world’s sympathy?
It’s lost its love unfortunately
Cold
Hunger swelling
Crushing outward thinking
Into this all Hope is sinking
Fortunate eyes look the other way
With age comes change
Not necessarily for the common good
Tired
Bled from the core
Not wanting breath
….. anymore
Facing the...
Lonely

Savaged
Watch the sky darkening
Light dissipates
Pulled,
as if in a vacuum of emotional states
Perfect days get crushed
Memories fizzle on the fire of progress
I’m a fool as I watch you undress
Savage thoughts poison my soul
All around is mayhem
The boys, how you love to stare at them
They’ll break your heart
Fumbling in your petticoats
We’re just like the sheep and the goats
Playing a stupid game of division
Pretending to believe in something
… in anything
Just let it come ...

Pulled,
as if in a vacuum of emotional states

The Times
Of no significance
A few lines…. soon forgotten
Echoing out into nowhere
Any impact… now diminishing
Too many words
Too few ears to actually appreciate
Paying attention is a thing of the past in the so called technological age
However…
It’s not so important
Not so relevant
Just a sideshow
A period of distraction
Only temporary- not a long term arrangement
A subscription that’s no longer so popular
Everything ends
It must be discarded
Moved on in the wake
Cataloged as nearly, maybe, or...

Your Death
Peer the glass for the last time
Letting go gradually
Acceptance following rapidly
Admonishing all you’ve ever been
Regret can then reach deeper than any knife
Stumble over rocky ground
Lick the stinging cuts just as you strain and struggle
Cracking teeth as if to stay strong
Dust fills your weakened lungs
Stifling every remaining desperate breath
You collapse ….
Failed by those you thought were friends
They conspired to force you to your bitter ends
Much later I want to chatter
Yet the disease it...

Within your embrace
Tenderness caresses
Quietening life long fear
Opening doors into all that you have imagined for me
I see new worlds too strange to understand
I’m saturated by intensity such as this
I stand with you…
Far from pain
…from dreaded memory
I see your face so perfectly beautiful
Burning eyes that see through my lies
Healing hands hold my soul
You teach me to fly way up high

Feeling insignificant
He doesn’t look at me like he used to
He’s preoccupied with other things
I look to grab his attention
Unfortunately…
It’s folly, a waste of my energy
I’m invisible to him now
My affections are so politely rebuffed
I’m quietly disregarded
Told that I’m loved, but untouched in so many ways
I understand, I’m not so attractive
Time hasn’t been too kind to me
I look at myself in disbelief
In your shoes, I’d probably feel the same
Perhaps you ought to confess your dislike of me
That I’m not longer your cup of tea ...

Separation
Settling lights
We see a few
Shining out like a beacon
Overly stark….in the impenetrable dark
Longing to be there
A thousand miles separates us
Hearts shatter, as in a car crash
You look elsewhere in desperation
I’m aware of our alienation
We light a fire
Burning the last of our hope
You stand perfectly still
I stare not knowing how to feel
The flames lick angrily, ready to steal
So, this gestates until it’s all I know
Now, whenever I come to you, I understand we can...

The woods in December
Many’s the time I’ve looked your way
Screaming wildly, so desperate to be heard
The rain hits hard, scoring my face
Memories betray me for yet another time
Take hold of me tonight
Squeeze me tight for the last time
And run into the trees
Don’t look back
I will love you to your eventuality
Then you will find life’s peace
Under soil, you shall rest
We will be together in daydreams
Every time it rains my skin will burn like sores
I will gladly hide in the shadow of the woods…
…. waiting for another you

Bare trees frame this scene
I stare out across a frozen winter garden
The morning light cuts and dormant leaves crackle
Snowy skies threaten the landscape
Silence floats, guided by icy breezes
I sigh deeply as you enter my thoughts
I’m reminded of secrets…
Of heart strings long since broken
On a similar day, when the lakes froze
When we ran and did silly things
I remember carrying you, then falling down laughing
Our love shone on that cold day
You and I found something special
We should not of let it go ...
