Eating me tonight
Catching souls in your web
Spinning your deceit
Allowing me to believe
That darkness is light
When I wonder
When this world has failed me
On a road never ending
I can, but watch you take my life away
I forget to remember hope
Unable to match this time to those of daydreaming
The fascination now lost
Hung up upon the gallow tree
Now is happening
Evaporating before the morning
Blundering it’s way into reality
Leaving a famine in my heart
In your web you slowly pull me apart
Spinning your deceit
Allowing me to believe

Harvest Spirit
Autumn light catches
your eyes
They sparkle back
As the falling leaves flutter
Gently landing within this peaceful backdrop
Afternoon sunshine covers the woodland
Replenishing the soul
Rich scent alludes to the plentiful harvests
We rest in the shadow of trees
Held for a moment
…In this serenity
Away from the noise
Far from the fatigue of this age
Cooling breezes bring balance
Adding depth to our senses
We embrace, allowing our sensuality to bloom
This is our time,
we won’t let it...

Bright light pierced her retinas, blurring everything
She stumbled backwards
Strong hands caught her before she fell…
Then forced her to sit on a plastic chair
Once she regained her focus
The reality of her situation dawned
Sian was right back from where she had escaped from…

A door opened from behind where she sat
“Hello Sian!”

Suddenly there was a loud bang
Sian hung onto the wheel, as the car lurched sideways
The front left had given way
She managed to keep the Ford on the tarmac just about
The road was deserted as far as she could see
As she suspected the tyre was completely gone
Sian scanned the horizon
She was miles from anywhere
….sighing deeply
It felt like karma to her
Payback for abandoning Louis
She would have to wait it out
Until another car came along
She’d grab a ride, hitch from here
The heat of the day was...

Casual interest
Behind me …
There’s a river
Taking my memories downstream
Washing every colour away
Bleaching every blemish
Obliterating each scar
Rendering memory obsolete
Low mood leaves me……. feeling like I’ve betrayed you
You deserve far better
Than my casual interest
More connection
Than I could ever commit to
Tiredness overcomes
I want to let go
Even though there’s no where to go
Let these chemicals churn
In an effort to turn
Sadness into a smile
So I could artificially stay a while
...
There’s a river

I want to shatter your perceptions
Create some balance, add reflections
To alter a twisting road
Tell you something you’ve never been told
Maybe open up the freeway
Assure you it’s going to be okay
Heading south over the border
Find your place in the new world order
So be happy with nothing
You don’t have to be a something
Learn to be at peace with yourself
Concentrate on keeping your health
The time is now
Perhaps somehow
I could take you deeper
After which, you may consider me a keeper ...

A storm below

The skies promise peace. .
Hope when the wars cease
We can then embrace
Melt into one another’s face
Find a beautiful place
Cross your fingers just in case
I won’t lie
We’re bound by a soul tie
United by the sharing of skin
Blood brothers within
…. And so to conclusion
Is this but an illusion?
Or a path from confusion
A way out of delusion
Please sit still
Loves’ not...
Fly until

She was gone
Louis remained on his knees
Moments later
He was grabbed from behind
Two men wrestled him back into the hotel room
He strained his kneck to see their faces
As he turned his head
Everything went black
His hands were cable tied behind his back
Sian drove fast
She needed to forget just what happened
Louis would be alright she told herself
No one had followed them there had they?
She speed on, chain smoking as she went
Louis was manhandled into a chair
He felt pressure to the back...

The last rays of sunshine disappeared behind the horizon as Sian pulled the Ford into a Motel parking lot
She took a handgun from the glovebox and stuffed it into the back of her jeans
They had covered a hundred and seventy five miles since noon and were in need of rest
The two entered into the dated motel lobby
Check-in was easy, they paid the girl behind reception in cash and were given keys to a ground floor apartment
The room itself was surprisingly spacious
It had a kitchenette
A large double bed and a small courtyard out back
Air con...
