scent
most ancient lure:
first sign of any danger…
or of any prey.
sound
listen for the signs.
her moans and pulse and breathing
are bliss's clockwork.
sight
'i's crossed, 't's dotted,
the filling in of details…
icing on the cake.
touch
fingers arc the gap:
galvanizing to the flesh,
quick'ning to the soul.
taste
the musk of desire.
the sweetness of submission.
the sharp tang of fear…

4.19.95: a father's rant
the murrah building:
bombed, now, fifteen years ago...
I had to tell my daughter!!
schools are not teaching
even the simplest of facts:
self-fulfilling prophecies;
dooming our nation,
dooming this entire world
to re-live what they've left out.
i am telling her,
taking her hand, walking her
through the cycles we repeat:
first at ruby ridge,
again at waco, texas:
the government made mistakes.
tim mcveigh was there
when the davidians burned.
watching, blaming, sowing hate.
two years to the day...
bombed, now, fifteen years ago...

petals splayed symmetrically on an infinite globe's face;
intersecting gaze of
omniscient eyes.
the void that spawns ten-thousand natural kinds
and the voice that breathes life into each of them so they might prosper.
points joined within this space form the five platonic solids,
physicality's straight edges and planes.
