Mask of Innocence
I look in the mirror at a mask of innocence
She, that girl in the mirror, is not real
Her face is familiar but what I have done, she could never do
She has done nothing wrong
I have never done anything right
Everything keeps getting worse
As time goes on
And soon it’ll be too late to come back
From all this complication and hurt
When enough time passes
I won’t be able to remember
It’ll just be another scar in the life of me
Always there, visible but not important
As I put on the mask of innocence

Not so great with titles...
It wasn’t the first, second, or even third time I had been to his house. This place was familiar to me, but this one time it seemed different. We were alone, and we both knew what was going to happen. He walked in, in front of me and slipped his shoes off. My flip flops were easy to get off once I was in the house. I moved silently to the front door and closed it. I turned my back to the door and leaned against it. He wasn’t two steps away from me and his hands were already reaching to caress my face. Dont Underestimate Me
Is the difference only experience
My lack of understanding
Brought on by lack of living
You define me as a child
One who puts wants in front of necessities
Fun in front of responsibilities
And who is careless of consequences
You judge too harshly
It’s all based on age
Never taking into consideration
Me, as a person
I may not understand completely
But give me some credit
I’m not a mindless, irresponsible teenager
Anymore than you’re an insensitive, bitter old man
You can argue with me all you want
I put up a good fight

Sanctuary
Shut the door
Lock out humanity
Do not disturb
This is sanctuary
Outside the world is crumbling
In here the walls stand strong
Beyond this boundary is hate and crime
Within, those words do not belong
Rage is right beneath me
Pain, the next room over
Irritation just wants to play
My patience drops lower
I blare the music
Block out everything I can
The dead bolt flies off the door
This wasn’t part of the plan
They invade all at once
My safe haven destroyed
No point in fighting now
Anxiety fills...

New Years Suicide
How amazing would it be
If I killed myself on New Years Eve
There’d be no struggle
There’d be no fight
A perfect ending for a perfect night
No one would care
No one would give a “dang”
If I went out with one last bang
Not a phone call
Not a note
Just one last poem that I wrote
How fantastic would it be
If I killed myself on New Years Eve
There’s a party
I’m not there
But it’s not like anyone cares
They’re thinking about
How to spend their new year
With, yet another lukewarm beer
She’s with him
