POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Feel forest
a lonesome day
the trout swims far away
the forest remains
I walk and talk with the smell all round
the breeze blowin’ up the meadow
cross the river to see
the kid in me
quick drippin’ coffee
I enjoy the weight of my body
I enjoy the smell of dry grass
and coffee
a lonesome day
tomorrows mornin
seems far away
the trout swims far away
the forest remains
I walk and talk with the smell all round
the breeze blowin’ up the meadow
cross the river to see
the kid in me
quick drippin’ coffee
I enjoy the weight of my body
I enjoy the smell of dry grass
and coffee
a lonesome day
tomorrows mornin
seems far away

At the table pondering soil
I wonder What you think of me
In a place where I’ve hid my eyes
your words paint those high
cloudy skies
Morning time
Fill my cup of
Whatever it is that you’ve had
I draw circles with my index in the crumbs
I wonder what you think of me
I slide the shovel through the soil
You ask me what I’m doing
Your voice cuts through the hum of the fridge where our pictures hang
I slide the shovel through the soil
and deep down the shock of a sturdy rock
In a place where I’ve hid my eyes
your words paint those high
cloudy skies
Morning time
Fill my cup of
Whatever it is that you’ve had
I draw circles with my index in the crumbs
I wonder what you think of me
I slide the shovel through the soil
You ask me what I’m doing
Your voice cuts through the hum of the fridge where our pictures hang
I slide the shovel through the soil
and deep down the shock of a sturdy rock

The flowers that grow out of wounds
There are people watching
people watching people watching
And I'm at the city mall
people watching
picking up groceries
feeding your hungry
I'm at the city mall going to the laundry
picking birds on the street
there are people on the street
there are people in the system
there are people watching and I am going on and on
there's flowers in her hair
as I am biting off a nail
there are people watching and I'm biting off a nail
and I'm looking like a snail next to my little queen
i am feeling like a dream...
people watching people watching
And I'm at the city mall
people watching
picking up groceries
feeding your hungry
I'm at the city mall going to the laundry
picking birds on the street
there are people on the street
there are people in the system
there are people watching and I am going on and on

Smiling at the waves
Yet again, we meet the day and night
Time runs through me
as everything stops
Nature stops
Wilderness stops
to await the dawn
Here
Now
I open the tent and you’re smiling inside
You ask me if I wanna go swim
I’ve never wanted anything else, I say
Time runs through me
as everything stops
Nature stops
Wilderness stops
to await the dawn
Here
Now
I open the tent and you’re smiling inside
You ask me if I wanna go swim
I’ve never wanted anything else, I say

So
So,
Go along
Sing my song
Hear this drum
So,
The wind
In my chest
Fills you up
Lifts us up
From this bench
So
Hear this drum
Loose your chains
Float away
Go along
Sing my song
Hear this drum
So,
The wind
In my chest
Fills you up
Lifts us up
From this bench
So
Hear this drum
Loose your chains
Float away

Happiness
Teach me to see
and only see
How love exists
Everywhere
Open my mouth,
wade in my pulse
And teach me to sing
Everything
Teach me to dive,
into her eyes
And keep on swimming
To the core of her light
Repeat the human song,
Sing “There’s a whale in me”
Teach me to be
A juniper tree
To live and die
Peacefully
and only see
How love exists
Everywhere
Open my mouth,
wade in my pulse
And teach me to sing
Everything
Teach me to dive,
into her eyes
And keep on swimming
To the core of her light
Repeat the human song,
Sing “There’s a whale in me”
Teach me to be
A juniper tree
To live and die
Peacefully

I like the human condition and premarital sex
I like couples on the beach
In august haze
How they tie themselves up
in each others arms
And sail away
smiling
I like the sole living relative
that visits my house,
and the memories we yield
Remembrance at night
Over coffee
I like the lonely one, in town
And how one wanders away
And how all follow
Something
Somewhere
In august haze
How they tie themselves up
in each others arms
And sail away
smiling
I like the sole living relative
that visits my house,
and the memories we yield
Remembrance at night
Over coffee
I like the lonely one, in town

At home
When you die
Are you leaving, or coming home?
Have I ever had a home?
Have I ever been home?
Who am I to decide
what constitutes a home?
I take a guess:
To feel at home is the definition of being
at home
So I chose you
Will you stay a little longer?
Are you leaving, or coming home?
Have I ever had a home?
Have I ever been home?
Who am I to decide
what constitutes a home?
I take a guess:
To feel at home is the definition of being
at home
So I chose you
Will you stay a little longer?

To sit beside
Sitting still
fleeting body
sitting still
I contain memories
I remember the early spring bird
I remember it
to paint my blue sky dark
everything is fragile
people too
oh to lose composure
oh to old time friends
oh to sit beside
for those who don't need poetry
I salute you all
but turn to raise my glass to the regulars at this bar
for some, sneezing is the greatest pleasure of all

Birch tree tarp
Raised by trees
Baby hands on trees
Even from the start
The anchoring feeling of dry birch tree scales
Awakes memories from generations past
An old ring on the surface of our water
That still rolls
And expands
Infinitely
A passer by kicks my tree
So my tarp of leaves now rattles
A branch breaks and falls in my lap
And I recall
Memories from generations past
Nature has been the common enemy
We are the fish
That conquered the land
Baby hands on trees
Even from the start
The anchoring feeling of dry birch tree scales
Awakes memories from generations past
An old ring on the surface of our water
That still rolls
And expands

Notes from a cold dark room
On my stomach I l lie
shivering from a cold
on the wall a painting of light
a work from a distant celestial past
Through the painting, the outside blows in
and on the window cill an empty bottle awaits
when the curtain hits glass
a ringing noise fills the room
at the end of day
this steady pulse
will cradle me away
to sounds of a present room
I merge with the sheets
arms and legs turn to chunks of meat
a wall is painted over
and the hook in my cheek
reminds me of the coming morning ...

Eggshell defense
It’s not up to me
I bend
Or cup my hand
To drink myself happy
For the moment
It’s not up to you
You wrestle with old apartment dust
In every corner
It multiplies to infinity
It’s not up to the man on the street
He’s got nothing to say about it
He’s got nothing to say about us
And knows nothing of it
I think the egg
Came before the chicken
Thats logical
To me
I bend
Or cup my hand
To drink myself happy
For the moment
It’s not up to you
You wrestle with old apartment dust
In every corner
It multiplies to infinity
It’s not up to the man on the street
He’s got nothing to say about it
He’s got nothing to say about us
And knows nothing of it
I think the egg
Came before the chicken
