POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I've been searching forever. For what? I don't know...but I've managed to find some cool relics to prove I'm on the right road.
Sunset
The sky is at her golden age;
Her eyes red with anger,
Her heart, grown older with the day.
And as I walk along the stony beach
I am at one with the world.
And I bade thee go, to return in time again.
For there's a thing in me saying I'll see you.
And though I'm an imposter in your eyes,
Tomorrow, and all her hopes, dreams, goals and fears,
They all keep me embracing you.
My faith keeps me moving forward.
I never turn back.
For everything good comes to an end; ...

The Greatest Story Ever Written
And there it was,
Spoken across the distance of the deep,
The life that was us
You had planned so quietly
And fashioned so delicately my face;
Our face.
We walked and talked with you.
We smiled and laughed with you.
We asked you questions and you answered.
It was perfect bliss.
And our shame was far from you.
For to love is not to be ashamed.
And there he came.
Smooth and enticing words
Sweet and sour to the lips, ...
Spoken across the distance of the deep,
The life that was us
You had planned so quietly
And fashioned so delicately my face;
Our face.
We walked and talked with you.
We smiled and laughed with you.
We asked you questions and you answered.
It was perfect bliss.
And our shame was far from you.
For to love is not to be ashamed.

History by Shawnelle Martineaux
To be a book remembered,
Unfaded by the winds of time,
Unshaken by the raging sea,
Destined to shape hearts, minds and character.
To be a story,
Told for centuries,
Still applicable and still worthwhile.
The maker of a smile and the breaker
Of the cycle.
To be an evergreen,
Planted soundly on the sloped side of a mountain,
Where everyone sees that I remained fervent,
In season and out.
Ready to teach what I've found,
Ready to learn all I do not know,
Ready to...

When That Time Comes
When that time comes I shall see your face,
A story written so plainly across my being.
The part of my character I never fully understood
I shall see my future written in your smile
And hear my name in your laugh.
We shall breathe each others' breath;
Feel each others' pains and joys.
We shall love in the way love was written.
When that day comes, our hearts shall beat as one and we
Shall realize that life was only half as fun before.
We shall continue to dream as individuals but...
A story written so plainly across my being.
The part of my character I never fully understood
I shall see my future written in your smile
And hear my name in your laugh.
We shall breathe each others' breath;
Feel each others' pains and joys.
