The sound of the sea
I feel the breeze
It carries me
The scent of coconuts
And palm trees that stretch high
And then curve as if to sigh
In the breeze
My hair flows
I don’t have a use for bows
The waves in my hair
Are something new
My skin, a golden hue
I love the ocean blue
It reminds me of you
I feel the breeze

Not a weakness
Confidence
It’s my best defense
I sometimes seem dense
But it’s part of my offense
I listen to your heart
I don’t know where to start
My shoes are untied
Sometimes I lie
And say I’m fine
When the reality is this
I picture
My literature
In books
Published and great
I’m sometimes late
I would rather be in a lake
Floating under water
Not worrying about the falter
The faults of others
Just the utter silence
I try to remember my confidence

Letting Go
Another person’s pain
Is the same as yours
Different torture
Each one shaping you
Into who
You’re meant to be
Somehow that is freeing
The feeling of letting go
When you ride that wave
And go with the flow
And know that you’re not on your own
You’ve made it out of the fire, the woods
And crossed seas you only ever dreamed
Of being able to do
Life’s obstacles that were meant to harm
Without any charm, or rhyme
You made it out alive
Stronger than ever before
So get off the floor

Taking a first step

Of pain

Wherever the ocean sleeps
Where the sky is in between
Night and day
That is where we shall meet,
that is where I seek,
An ocean of dreams
Where your eyes gleam
And maybe,
Just a hint of a smile
The one I hadn’t seen in a while
Where the sun fades
Away
And the moon dances
I steal a few glances
While the music plays
How I love this day
And what I pray
The most
For the song to never end
And the stars to not fall
For I have enjoyed the night at the ball
By the ocean side
I’ll see...
