Break the Cycle
Darkness greets the evening of cold gray thoughts,
and dreams offer no respite.
Trouble seeps from the morning mail in bold letters:
Eviction Notice
She reaches for the saving grace of amber solace
to cloud realities embrace.
Before the liquid sates the sinner, she pauses...
Her three children dream above.
She prays to God,
Help.. I’ll not drink again
Hollow is the promise as the liquid tempts her night
and then eases.
For now.
Dawn ...
another chance...

Breaking Dawn
Caress of a weathered cheek
... Inhale
Piercing fresh air imbued upon his skin
Gilded radiance ignited in souls coalescing
Transcending a dawning sun
Breaking my horizon
He fuels fascination, admiration, wonder
... deep devotion
And ignites a pyre of feminine caprice
I crave the breathless music of my whispered name
when our zenith showers his need
... Inhale

A simple hello

A sliding door moment
One you could miss completely without notice

You listened, you heard
A moment of reflection
Recognition
Your need reached out to me
A desire to be known

Wonder at the power of being seen
An ache of vulnerability
Acceptance

A year ago today, you came
With tender care, understanding and
A willingness to listen
In those moments your
Thoughts touched mine and
You stole my mind away
On an early Spring morning you came
Teaching me things I had never known
Igniting a fire I cannot put out
Embedding your name beneath my skin
You left with more than you came with
You stole my heart away
Every day you came, you come still
With care, with actions, with appreciation
You are the sunshine in my days
My never ending and...

In-Between
In the early pre-dawn light
As my body spoons to yours
My hand moves of its own accord
Skimming your skin
Sending signals to my sleepy brain
Bypassing thoughts and yet eliciting bodily reactions
In that quiet and blanketed darkness
I feel your drowsy acknowledgement
As your body too, lets your slumbering mind sleep
Let me slip between your dreams
Dance with me in those in-betweens
Let me hold your naked need
Take my offered gift to tip and lip
Soft as angels wings while still slumbering
Let me cradle you...
