I miss you
I dug frantically in the trash can beside my desk, throwing
out everything in my way as I looked for the crumpled,
wadded up piece of my heart which I can't let go of.
There at the bottom of that metal pit was my soul etched in ink
on a mangled ball of line-less paper.
With tears dotting each fiber, I flattened it as much
as the tabletop and my trembling hands would allow and
there still visible amidst tear diluted ink were the words of my heart
I LOVE YOU!

My Moon
The whispers of evening sing it's lullaby
To the fire on the horizon
As lighted children of the night
Come out to play
I sit watching, listening
As the orchestra of the heavens
Accompany the music of my soul
The stars aligning themselves
In the spelling of your name
Across my night sky
For when I miss you
I but have to raise my eyes
Into this playground of wonder
And there I find you
Beautiful, more brilliant than
Any of these diamonds of light
You illuminate my world,
And with the heat of the sun ...
To the fire on the horizon

Tired of hiding
I met you in my dreams last night
Still shaking from the midnight encounter
Light headed and delirious,
desire quite lingers
Hair in disarray, where is my intruder
I'm sure you're sipping mocha
And relishing the fray
So, will you just meet me
In moonlight dreams of tomorrow
Or will you dare step out into the day
And let those dreams breathe realities life
I think light needs to see
What we both know of the night

Never Stop Dreaming
In wilted dreams of today
tides rise without mercy
Scattered pools of desire
are left as waters recede
Hopes bake into evaporation
misting the sky of clouded yesterdays
How is it that the rain
brings it full circle again
New visions for tomorrow
fall as drops into the ocean
Waves crashing new dreams
ashore for my choosing

The Canvas
I stood at a distance this morning
And looked at the canvas you are painting
The images , the colors, the shading,
Explosive they are, full of life , fresh,
Still wet from the strokes of your brush
Waiting for them to dry
To leave a permanent portrait
Of your hopes and dreams
The picture, as it unfolds
Is You and Me, hand in hand
Walking in this journey of life
Am I your greatest Masterpiece?
And looked at the canvas you are painting
The images , the colors, the shading,

Waiting for them to dry

Sometimes I hate the night
Sunlight gets tangled in the shadows and is swiftly consumed by starlight and thought finds a playground to ravage one's heart.
Insecurities stab deep as demons from yesterdark try to live in the tonight leaving one shaking and cold.
Mind flirts with buying wares offered , disoriented by past pain and deception.
I pray for morning to quickly come and to make clear the things which I "know" to be sure.
