It’s 3am, and I’m wide awake
I just can’t seem to catch a break
The past was then; the present’s now
What can I do to feel safe and sound?
Everyone says it’s all in my mind
Is that why I’ve been walking blind?
My shoulders are hunched over with this pressing weight
I’ve left home long ago; would life have been better had I just stayed?
Stay with me; don’t ever let me go
I’m helpless in the water; will I sink or will I float?
Life’s coloured in multiple shades; it’s not just black and white
This internal war I’m...

He’s the sun
Our source of warmth and light
Can’t you sense how important his presence is?
It’s worth giving up my life.
Just as he died for us
To take in all our earthly sins
If only we could see the big picture
And focus on bettering what’s within.
I’ve loved and lost
I’ve cursed and cried
One moment I’ve hit rock bottom
The next I’m flying on cloud nine.
He’s within each of us
For we’re all his sacred temple

Show Me Love
Our hearts were meant to burn together
Who said that true love can’t last forever?
You were meant for me, and I was meant for you
The universe is now complete because one plus one equals two.
What is love? That’s an encompassing question
No one knows the answer, yet it’s still a vital decision
To make in our lives to try to make it bright
Here’s to hoping that it won’t extinguish our light.

The stars shine bright
I have never experienced such joy in my lifetime
Yet my soul remembers
It reflects the cosmic luminosity
Of a culture and family long ago passed
I yearn for that sense of community again
I do not belong to this world
My heart remains in the forgotten memories
A new year has come, another life to experience
Yet my heart and soul will forever yearn for what no longer exists.

I am merely a humble woman
Not yet broken, but my light is just a flicker…

I hear whispers in the dark
Preaching about an infinite wonder
Apparently, we all have this mark
Branded inside of us, and it’s led me to discover…

A noiseless heartbeat is my life line

Silence is your daily greeting
I shouldn’t have expected something different
Did I satisfy your usual craving?
Your eyes no longer shine even when you pay me a compliment.
I’m sick and tired of making this compromise
I can’t keep up with these mixed signals you’re sending me
You used to beam with love; now you’re as cold as ice
My life and blood are oozing out of the seams.
Take it or leave it; it’s your problem that you got bored
You keep on making the same mistake; why do you complain?

Cast the Light
Make a wish, set your goals
Do not ever relinquish control
The beauty of an individual lies in their soul
We merely seek to set the pieces whole.
I am a creature of habit and ambition
And though I struggle against daily temptation
I will not lower myself to the popular position
It is in my bones not to bow down into submission.
I will decide whether to trust my sight
I will endure this misery with all of my might
I have nothing to lose since I will win this fight
Since I have been entrusted to cast the light.

I'm my own master
I'll bring back the good times
I've got the power
To start this long climb.
I am ready for what life throws at me
I see clearly the path that I must take
Whether I soar low or high; I’ll always reach the sky
Because I was born ready to undo my mistake.

Rumors have spread like wildfire
You’ve mind up your mind anyway
You jab at my beliefs and even my attire.

Breathe life into me; make me spill all my secrets
You’d like to hold that card as your ultimate weapon
I feel so dead, though my heat still beats; Will you share some heat?
To thaw out my frozen soul; or will you doom me to never feel whole?
You twist and turn my words and actions
Yet fail to understand why there’s a chain of reactions
You’ve lost the possibility to hold that card
I’ve regained my liberty, though I had fought hard.
