In The Rough
Here I am zoning out again
Knowing what I don’t want to feel
It’s hard to push myself away
Hard to even tell what all is real
I take a deep breath, in and out
Just drop the tone and listen, baby
Not trying to fuss and fight tonight
I’m not trying to come off crazy
I can’t say anything anymore
Without you lashing out
I try to start off really calm
Seconds later you start to shout
So I start to release my grip
I stare into the void of our walls
I barely blink, breathing shallow
The world around me seems...

honestly, these last few days
have really gotten to me
thought I could throw it together
but it’s not meant to be and
thought I could write it down
put the feelings to words but
I can’t always be open
need to keep the door shut
seems like I’m either all in
or trying to get out of here
need to be somewhere, unaware
anywhere, I don’t care
so just take me away or
come and whisper to me,
can’t hide from the darkness
it’s getting kind of gloomy
need to release somehow
although I can’t be positive
is this even...

I’ll Be Your Light
Come to me and lay down your woes
Let me hold you, until the feeling goes
I can’t promise much time, but this
I can promise you, so you always know
That I will be your light in the darkness
Hold your hand when the pain is too much
I won’t ask you to disclose your fears
I’ll just be here if you need my touch
I’ll always lend you my shoulder

Does it make you feel better, baby?
Does it drown out all your fears?
Don’t you care that I don't approve?
Don't you see all of my tears?
Do you not feel any pain anymore,
When it finally finds that vein?
I’d say I’m quite surprised, but
To say that, I’d be declared insane
I’m not sure how to stop this ride,
Really don’t even know what to do.
I said I’d love you til our death,
Even at this rate, I still very much do.
You’re pushing the limits, my sweet,

I don't even feel as if I’m sitting here
Zoned out in a dissociative state
Feeling so unwanted by the world

The Plague
Oh, a great death, it came
In the very darkest of nights
It swept over the wheat fields
And slowly took its first blight
How this very path was paved
All the lovely flowered fields
And every village the night saw
Death took over valleys and hills
It passed over all of the living
Even livestock, they all fell ill
Babes, the women, men alike
Never seeming to have its fill
All the men in their work stations
And the families in their homes
They all took a fever and ached
Great bursting boils were grown ...

The Tale of Two Beauties
With smoke in the air, wind in the trees,
I almost didn’t see the blood on the leaves.
Your pale body spread across a wood,
Not even knowing where your killer stood.
I started to think, he could still be near,
I stopped my breathing, thinking he might hear.
I couldn’t save you, for I didn’t know,
That you were going to die in the snow.
I continued to walk, my breathing slow,
I had to find the source, I had to know.
I dropped real close to the frozen ground,
Hoped he wouldn’t see me if he was...

Roll the Dice
My mind is unwell, I may be sick
Thoughts so wrong, so quite unfit
I’ve been trying to force things
And it seems that I should quit
But I wonder about in the dark
I haven’t been seeing things clearly
My words will have surely cost me
And I fear that I am suffering dearly
I know now that I mustn't stop
This will pain me so much to do,
But I will not cease in my efforts,
Though these words I may rue
Rules I’ll break, grounds I’ll shake
And for all of the gods I shall defy

Looks like we really doing this
Going at each other in different ways
But I’ll take the risk, I’ll try a diss,
God I could talk shit for days, gonna need a raise,
to raise you from the dead
I’m not even that great at this yet,
but I’ll bet, I’ve still managed to get, in your head
Always so colorful when you write
But I bet when you type,
that your shit ain’t even that hype.
Cause we ain’t seeing color here,
I thought that’s pretty clear...
So your words just look all jumbled,
Tried to catch a pass and ya,...

Seems I’m under water,
I’m sinking fast.
Not too sure how long
my breath will last.
The waters murky,
there’s weeds everywhere.
You’re on the bank,
I know I left you there.
So if you see me,
why aren’t you moving?
Can’t you hear me,
what are you doing?
I’m sinking further now,
and still you stand.
