Many things
In my run to clear my head
I see the trees not as bountiful most lay dead
Im haunted of memories of many things ive seen
I wish theyd fade never return again
Trip through a moutain beginning of clarity
Amazing mother nature and her peaceful charity
I grab up a fallen tree to my shoulder continue my way
Drop the trunk start my exercises of the day
My girls join in squats and jumping jack
They get tired as i do push ups and lay on my back
My wife comes to the door saying time for tea
Rubs my shoulders relaxing me

Mirror
Standing toe to toe
Hit so hard that we feel it in our soul
Nothing to say we both know our bitter past
Our hatred for each other with eternal last
Right hook bust your eye
Uppercut with a kick to my thigh
Bite into my arm drawing of blood
Hands around your neck to stop the air flood
You jab fingers behind and crack my ribs
Straight jab putting your teeth through your lips
Slam each other through a concrete wall
Both wore out from pain but refuse to fall

To my angels
We collect shells as we walk through the sands
Holding both of your sweet little hands
Talking of all you want to do sweet little plans
Just hope you know me and your mom are yoir biggest fans
One wants to be a doctor such a noble thought
You can be whatever you want to be daddy believes
The other wants to be a singer and talks as though all she plans has already been bought
So precious you are both to me
Watch you run ahead then look back at me
One day this is the way it will be
Youll spread your wings and leave me behind

Life without parole
I felt a hand grab my head
Kicked in the ribs til my blood poured out
Listening to the nasty things you said
As you stomped along the side of my mouth
On my fifth birthday you broke my ribs
Screamed at me for yelling
So you busted my lips
The repeated bedtime story grandma was telling
I was hurt scared and relieved
When you passed while i was thirteen
Yet the world love me just the same hope i no longer believed.
Abuse mental and physical all i had seen
Now homeless just trying to survive
Got food in any way i...

I grew up irish hated by all
Half breed bastard among names they would call
My father american of a cheyenne tribe
My mother true irish of druedic scribe
Irish hated me for not being their own
All others hated me for the irish within
Beaten by grandmother for the fruit my father had sewn
Distained beating treated as the devils kin
Years i took this abuse til suddenly i was alone
Arrested for being who i was an nowhere to call home
Fight day in and out while incarcerated all ive known

I sat and listen to youngens talk of players
Do they truly understand the game
It not something learned from unwants and soothe Sayers
Its not how many you've gotten to say your name
If thats your belief you are no more than a noob
I wake up everyday to play the game
Learn heart mind and soul are just as attractive clothed or nude.
To work hard and be understanding to ensure she feels the same

I think of the times we shared
Im not quiet sure right now what to say
Your heart was so big few could have compared.
One last time to hold your hand.
One more time to hug you close.
Lil brother confidant and friend.
I hate not knowing what i should say most
You were hard head and fought for what you believe
Yet still kind at heart to try and fix whatever it maybe.
Now im heading home to let you have eternal sleep.

Now you know
Ive laid kneck deep in sand.
Laid for days with bad intentions in hand.
When the evil is done and i return home.
Part of me has died there leaving me at times alone.
My mind it drifts to the scenarios that play over and over again.
Lost to the evil i bare as my sin.
Suppose to have feelings well into the zero.
Why its killed me to be called a hero.
Sometimes a necessary evil we men do.
Yet we arent gods and the pain stays true.

No matter how many times ive crossed that line.

You came in this world a precious gift to me.
I do my best to help the world be beautiful for you to see.
I awake every morning to gather the flowers to adorn your stands.
Pride beams out when i hold all three of your hands.
The look of innocence in your little eyes as you eplore.
The sweet butterfly kisses you give me i adore.
To see you reading to our children and watch their minds race.
Seeing you three shows me heavens a place.

Measure of a man
It's not how much you can lift with your hand.
It's not how many women you can claim you knew.
Though it is in a way measured by strength.
You will be judged by what you do.
It's how many time you pick your kids up and dust them off.
Then convince them not to give up hope and continue to try.
How much you still love them with all that's in you.
Even when they have done things to make you cry.
How you wake up every morning holding the same woman.
Not just hold her but remember you love her more then anything else.
You can see her...
