POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Why do I write? I suffer from depression in the form of Bipolar disorder, writing helps to get the inside stuff outside and onto the page. When I am down I write, when I am up I draw and paint. It all helps.....
Come The Carrion
Constant depression, where fear and hate feed
In such lonely moments, with a want and a need
with infinite seconds, that stretch into years
Down reflectionles face, fall invisible tears
look to the horizon, throw your eyes to the sky
Come the carrion calling, as you ask yourself why
Compose your own saga, where life falls into place
Then gone as a mirage, never leaving a trace
See her image in dreams, before fading from view
Hear her voice on the wind, as she's calling for you
as you scream for her help, from the blackest of night
Feel her hand...

Down reflectionles face, fall invisible tears
look to the horizon, throw your eyes to the sky
Come the carrion calling, as you ask yourself why
Compose your own saga, where life falls into place

See her image in dreams, before fading from view

Empty Garden
A wooden bench, an empty garden
Enclosed within a high stone wall
A single figure in the corner
Sits waiting for his love to call
Long past the two were here together
So tightly held, enmeshed as one
A gardens bright and vibrant beauty
Now colour drained and almost gone
With footsteps heard off in the distance
Then nearing, closer comes the sound
As hopes are dashed again the silence
He bows his head down to the ground
In solitude he sits there waiting
Of futile love he yearns, he dreams
Another day without his soulmate
Connections...

Tell Me The Title
Never ending tiresome journey
Obliviously trudging on through life
Bleary eyed and tired
Once smiling now weighted in strife
Daunting routines monopolise the days
Yearning for sweet escape
Caring faces are unseen
As around me circle black feathered birds
Raking claws search out my eyes
Each now blind and bloodied
See no more this unfeeling world.

Raking claws search out my eyes

See no more this unfeeling world.

Double Lobotomy
Oh how we are gonna dance with glee
We're gonna do a double lobotomy
I brought the drill and a shiny new bit
Strap em to the table let's get on with it
Watch out for the spatter and put on your robe
Coz we are goin messin with the frontal lobe
Am cranking up the power, hey they look quite ill
But this will fix em soon it's better than a pill
The whirring of the drill and now the holes are made
Nobody will hear it, don't you be afraid
Now insert the rods and push em in real deep
Then wiggle them about and soon they'll be asleep ...

The Feather
I stand and watch the feather burn
An honest truth is what we learn
This simple feather thrown in flight
A sign from bird as black as night
Though no connection could I see
This single object spoke to me
To stoop I must, to take and hold
Dark portents gather to the fold
On hallowed ground so full of grace
For two lost souls a joyous place
Then tainted by lifes cruelest fate
It took sadness to a burning grate
Smoke rising in the winter sky
Returning to a place on high
And with it taken doubt and scorn
We wake into a brighter morn...

Alone Upon The Beach
Sitting here alone in thought, my world seems at an end
With minutes stretching into hours, no life, no love, no friend
Waves come crashing to the shore, my barriers to breach
Forbid them passage to my mind, alone upon the beach
Gazing out upon the sea, the ebb and flow of tide
A gentle voice invades my mind, nowhere for me to hide
Her words drift in from off the swell, sweet ways of love to teach
Then bleed away through pebbled ground, alone upon the beach
My dreams grow wings and soar on high, go seeking out her love
On gliding over rolling...

Vibrant Red
Nobody gets in here again
This heart is fucking closed
With shutters down, the sign says no
To any questions posed
Now padlocked shut, the key is gone
It skitters down the drain
Too many times laid broken
It cannot take more pain
No more this heart be filled with love
But shrivelled, blackened, dead
A rotting piece of lifeless flesh
Was once a vibrant red
So take this heart and tear it out
Cast out this sad disease
Then thrown upon the flames of grief
With ashes blown upon the breeze.
This heart is fucking closed
With shutters down, the sign says no

Now padlocked shut, the key is gone

Stranger Than fiction
It's stranger than fiction
This lethal addiction
I'm fixed and dilated
Withdrawn and frustrated
To scream with no voice
Needing my drug of choice
With no fear of rejection
Just one quick injection
Imprinted vision remains
As she fires through my veins
Senses flare pulses race
Through the fog comes her face
Natures Opium flower
Is no match for her power
Such a sweet dereliction
Yes it's stranger than fiction
This lethal addiction
I'm fixed and dilated
Withdrawn and frustrated
To scream with no voice
Needing my drug of choice
With no fear of rejection
Just one quick injection
Imprinted vision remains

A Fate Of Frogs..
An army of frogs into battle did go
Fierce fighting ensued, the war swung to and fro
Frogs against doubt, but who would prevail
And would any survive to tell of the tale
First there came Need, such a brave little frog
But he lost his way, overcome by thick smog
He was aided by Want with his heart stout and strong
This amphibian duo couldn't last out too long
Adjoined then by Always, who's faith remained true
Could three best this doubt, or be they to few
Forever rode in, fearsome croaks from him came
As they banded together, in this terrible game...

The Line
Unseen he travels, softly gliding
Stallion nearing, death be riding
A silent scream flies on the breeze
But none shall hear my mournful pleas
I run through teeming lifeless mass
Bloodied feet torn on shards of glass
Ten thousand blank expressionless faces
Walk rank and file in darkened places
Their myriad souls stand here collected
Each embraced with none rejected
Searching out tormented thought
He finds me, caring for me nought
Then granite cold upon my shoulder
His hand alights, I grow no older
Eternal darkness shall be mine
Thus...

The Mouse and the thief of hearts
This poem comes from a true story, I used to be on spaces with the nickname Mr Jingles, the mouse from The Green Mile. One night a comment appeared from a girl who had been on my space, she told me she had stolen a mouse from my room during the night. I replied the next day and that started the deepest love I have ever felt for anyone. We are not together now and I last spoke to her 5 years ago today. I love her more now than then but not as much as I will love her tomorrow......
I know of a woman, who stole my pet mouse
The rodent was taken, from inside my house...

The Hounds
From dark foreboding mountains high
Comes drifting slowly blackened sky
Fading out this autumn light
Now turning daylight into night.
This wretched cloud upon me falls
Again to walk in empty halls
Who's walls do scream, each stone it wails
As blackboard dragged with sharpened nails.
These windows shed no light for thee
Thy clouded mind alone can see
Unseen hands that guide me here
As step by step I face my fear.
A quickened beating heart that pounds
Unleashed I feel let lose the hounds
Then kneeling, waiting, holding...
Comes drifting slowly blackened sky
Fading out this autumn light
Now turning daylight into night.
This wretched cloud upon me falls
Again to walk in empty halls
Who's walls do scream, each stone it wails
As blackboard dragged with sharpened nails.
