POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
~Ticks~
I have nervous ticks
I think we all do
Some tap their fingers
Others, nails they chew
I rub my wrists
Or bite my lip
My friend, the tip
Of his hands he'll nip
The other will glance
One way to the rest
Give a simple answer
Like it's a test
They tick because
They're scared of me
The reality is
They really should be
I break people down
Though I never mean to
So now you've been warned
Can't say I never told you
I think we all do
Some tap their fingers
Others, nails they chew
I rub my wrists
Or bite my lip
My friend, the tip
Of his hands he'll nip
The other will glance
One way to the rest
Give a simple answer
Like it's a test
They tick because
They're scared of me
The reality is
They really should be
I break people down
Though I never mean to
So now you've been warned
Can't say I never told you

~Hollow Days~
I'm growing so old
I've lived so long
Would've never imagined
I was that strong
I found your poem today
And put it back in it's slot
I wrote it too long ago
Another time, another thought
Lost in my mind
I was mad back then
Not much has changed
Though I wish it would end
Friends long gone now
I'm all alone so
I'll try one last time
To be happy, you know
I'l drink my days away
Staring at the wall
Patiently waiting
For oncoming downfall
I've lived so long
Would've never imagined
I was that strong
I found your poem today
And put it back in it's slot
I wrote it too long ago
Another time, another thought
Lost in my mind
I was mad back then
Not much has changed
Though I wish it would end
Friends long gone now
I'm all alone so
I'll try one last time
To be happy, you know
I'l drink my days away
Staring at the wall
Patiently waiting
For oncoming downfall

~Discovered~
Shattered, broken
Glass on the floor
Her fragile smile
A smile no more
She looks so empty
Her voice monotone
An expressionless face
She stands all alone
This is her fault
Her bed, she made
A punishment, surely
For crimes left unpaid
Fake smiles and laughs
All gone in vain
Alcohol on her breath
Life down the drain
Vision blurred by tears
Stale cigarettes on her breath
She takes one long, last drag
And jumps to her death
Glass on the floor
Her fragile smile
A smile no more
She looks so empty
Her voice monotone
An expressionless face
She stands all alone
This is her fault
Her bed, she made
A punishment, surely
For crimes left unpaid
Fake smiles and laughs
All gone in vain
Alcohol on her breath
Life down the drain
Vision blurred by tears
Stale cigarettes on her breath
She takes one long, last drag
And jumps to her death

~Winter~
That's all I remember
Feeling so cold
The friends I thought I had
And the lies they told
First came Music
Complex, but sweet
He was a broken record
And I fell in love with the beat
Next was Autumn
So simple and serene
A leaf falling down
Away from a terrible fiend
Lastly, the Robot
With his bright, metal sheen
He was rusted and stiff
But with time, would clean
Each I loved dearly
But the Music faded away
The seasons have changed
And the Robot's tin began to decay
Now...

~Metal~
I see this boy
His smile so bright
But in his eyes
There is no light
He's weak and tired
But he's strong
He must be, or he
Wouldn't have lasted so long
I try to joke
To earn a grin
But this boy seems
To be made of tin
The broken boy
Built metal walls
Sealing himself off
No one to hear his calls
A bloody little heart
In his iron hand
And there he stands
The Roboman
His smile so bright
But in his eyes
There is no light
He's weak and tired
But he's strong
He must be, or he
Wouldn't have lasted so long
I try to joke
To earn a grin
But this boy seems
To be made of tin
The broken boy
Built metal walls
Sealing himself off
No one to hear his calls
A bloody little heart
In his iron hand
And there he stands
The Roboman

~Heart Of Glass~
Smiles and laughs
So much cheer
Can't hear the boy
Shedding yet another tear
Broken heart of glass
Shattered on the floor
No one seems to notice
The bloody crystal gore
She didn't mean to break it
But for broken glass, no cure
So he'll pick up the scattered pieces
And fake a smile, just for her
So much cheer
Can't hear the boy
Shedding yet another tear
Broken heart of glass
Shattered on the floor
No one seems to notice
The bloody crystal gore
She didn't mean to break it
But for broken glass, no cure
So he'll pick up the scattered pieces
And fake a smile, just for her

~The Beast~
Eyes like burning coals
A sharp-toothed beast
Feeding on broken hearts
It's prepared for a feast
Cutting fresh wrists
With claws like blades
Leaving scars behind
Through blood it wades
It takes without mercy
Tail like a noose
Stealing innocent lives
Turning demons loose
A sharp-toothed beast
Feeding on broken hearts
It's prepared for a feast
Cutting fresh wrists
With claws like blades
Leaving scars behind
Through blood it wades
It takes without mercy
Tail like a noose
Stealing innocent lives
Turning demons loose

~Thoughts In The Dark~
Sometimes at night
I'll stay awake
And think of all the
thoughts I can take
I think of you
I think of us
Things we lose
But things we must
I think of me
All by myself
My surely slipping
Mental health
I think of my brother
Six feet under
Who he'd be now
I'm left to wonder
I think of death quite a lot
And how long I've got to go
Through broken rose coloured lenses
I'm pretty sure I now know
I'll stay awake
And think of all the
thoughts I can take
I think of you
I think of us
Things we lose
But things we must
I think of me
All by myself
My surely slipping
Mental health

~In His Hands~
Timid little hands
Callused at the top
Holding his little heart
Careful it won't drop
Splits and cracks and cuts
Running through all the part
Held together by stitches
Like his little broken heart
Patchwork heart in hand
Depression became too real
So I'll hold his tiny heart
And give it time to heal

~Addition To My Playlist~
There it is
Hit me like a train
Overwhelmed by this
Sickening sadness again
My heart starts to race
My hands start to shake
Been like this for too long
How much more can I take?
I might just hurl
My head is pounding
The fact that I'm still alive,
To me, that's astounding
I might be alive
Though my eyes are dim
My entirety seems dead
All is grey and grim
Leave me now
Hurry along
Give me nothing but a
Memory; and a sad, sad song
Hit me like a train
Overwhelmed by this
Sickening sadness again
My heart starts to race
My hands start to shake
Been like this for too long
How much more can I take?
I might just hurl
My head is pounding
The fact that I'm still alive,
To me, that's astounding

Hurry along
Give me nothing but a
Memory; and a sad, sad song

~When I Think Of You~
It's amazing that
Through all these weeks
I still think of you,
Feelings turned antique
Thought I saved you
From your mind
In the end, you
Left me behind
A memory thought of
When days turn cold
That's all I'll be
When your heart unfolds
December was grey
As New York snow
I'll tell the tale
Of my heart's woe
Stuck in my mind
Stuck my heart
All you've done
Is tear me apart
Through all these weeks
I still think of you,
Feelings turned antique
Thought I saved you
From your mind
In the end, you
Left me behind
A memory thought of
When days turn cold
That's all I'll be
When your heart unfolds
December was grey
As New York snow
I'll tell the tale
Of my heart's woe
Stuck in my mind
Stuck my heart
All you've done
Is tear me apart

~Tribute To Walt~
I once knew a man
Who wore a grey suit
He had a stunning smile
And wonderful eyes to boot
His best friend was a mouse
He loved to draw
His characters left all
the children in awe
On his way to the pearly gates
He told me then
"Chin up; someday,
there will be happiness again."
Who wore a grey suit
He had a stunning smile
And wonderful eyes to boot
His best friend was a mouse
He loved to draw
His characters left all
the children in awe
On his way to the pearly gates
He told me then
"Chin up; someday,
there will be happiness again."
