Sunday morning ennui
Listen to the bed
there's disquiet in my head
There is nothin' goin' down
and I can feel it
There's a stale in the air,
thoughts of woe and wear and tear
not somethin' I want to share,
or reveal
And that sweet city woman,
she moves through the land
controlling my mind and my soul.
When she's rejecting me
yeah, and the feelin' is bad,
then I get day ennui, day ennui
What can I do with it?

What can I show for it?

If the worst thing I can do
is to cry in front of you
and the worst thing about the worst thing is
that the tears I shed were true
then its not the worst thing at all, you see
for I never wish to lose the memory
of hugs and breakfast, with champagne
above a sparkling sea

Icarus
I knew (of course) what I was getting into
when I attached the feathery waxy wings
I took flight effortlessly towards the sun
I knew (of course) that wax wanes and melts when hot
and the sun, superlative eternal flame
but I desired to touch her before I died
the sun in her smiling and wide-hipped beauty
the sun, gorgeous face and glowing finery
certainly I got close and close was enough
but I embarassed the sun and she cursed me
then I apologised and she yelled at me
unconditional love withers when dismayed
...

I am not everything to everybody
only few things to a few
to spouses, children, parents, lovers,
friends, and strangers, this is true
I gave one love fruit she desired
to lick and suck on and consume
tangy juices drip from tender lips
in dreams my loves are not my doom
I gave another love my vow
to be with her, and her forever
and this I will, and have no doubt
for I will not, will not forsake her
But if of her the other likes
and the other likes her back
and...

Day dream
One of the lasses at Glassons
oft wears little more than bra and jeans
she is undeniably beautiful
one might meet her in ones dreams
she'll fall in love with a big dumb boy
and others will sit and stare
I imagine she'll quite enjoy it, too
because she takes such fashion care
this bold dark flower is far to young for me
although to reiterate she's quite appealing
If I ever bed her, I'd be so excited
I'd come too quickly, all over the ceiling.

On unconditional love and friendship
I have met the beautiful love of my life
Maybe only six or seven times before
Only one became my fine and treasured wife
But all of them totally freaked up my life
I'm not necessarily talking coital
Although I've always desired each of them
Unconditional love is instrumental,
Monumental, and aims at unjudgemental
I loved them for who they were, and wont to be
Not for their property, rank, or privilege
I loved them very simply, I loved them free
I loved their fair earthly form and company
I loved to talk...

thus your speech favourable
cause my mind ooze out my ear
and what you hear from me is gibberish
disjointed ramblings devoid of reason
hopeless hopeless hopeless
is my lot, we work together
youre younger too, and beautiful
perhaps Ill tell you when were older
I wish that I were bolder
and woo you well, and be your partner
you must think that Im a fool
and yet you compliment me too....
