A friend of mine experienced this kind of thing on another poetry site some years back. There were constant explosive moments and it was ugly. She took her own life one day, left behind her little girl. It wasn't because of the verbal attacks, she was dealing with things in her personal life, the online shit didn't help.
It could only take calling someone a cunt on a public forum to push that person over the edge. We are all guilty of being shit to people at some point, maybe we should be more mindful to what others are dealing with outside of this place.

So, I'm still newish here on DUP. I've only been here a month and a half, give or take. In that time, I've made friends here who are dear to me and pseudo met loads of awesome poets via comment sharing. I'm not a shit disturber, I don't even know half of ANY of what's been discussed here so far. That's how I am. I go along and have personal connections that I cherish, try to write poems I'm proud of, participate in forums of my tastes, and enter into competitions only to push myself past my comfort zone by doing so.
I don't have any clue about MODS or the politics here.

I agree with Val, too. Name calling is hurtful. I do not support bullying either.

I support my friend and his choice to voice his opinion.
My involvement here was simply to back Colin in his obvious anger.

AP has been extremely kind to me since my very first day here and gave me boosts when I was new and ignored. A kindness I won't ever forget.
Unknowingly to him, he gained a loyal friend because of said kindness.

I believe in civil discourse. I've practiced it many times. When you feel like change is needed, and your voice isn't being heard, then practice what John Lewis called 'good trouble' and try and make change happen.
In a civil way.

However I'm fiercely loyal to my friends. I stand Hopeful they can learn from me, John Lewis, and practice good trouble, too. Making changes from within peacefully protesting.
Challenging the status quo (real or imagined) isn't easy.
Most prefer to just sit back and accept things.
It takes courage to stand up and do something when you feel like you're not being heard and perceived injustices are taking place.
I'll always applaud, that.

Alright so there couple of things afoot on this thread.

let me reiterate:

The lady has been banned three times in the last couple of months. she wasnt banned because she has autism, or because of her opinions

we all have opinions, we may be polite, we may be crass or blunt or whatever. this site is very liberal in what it allows, always has been

we  cant allow the kind of stuff which was being thrown around. there is no evidence or proof so apart from anything else the could be found liable for some shit

Oh I agree with that Lep,

I don't question the decision, just whether they have anyone, are they stable enough without the site? I didn't know if anyone had a connection enough to check either party were OK in the aftermath. I was less suggesting it should be let go as that Covid and lockdowns have heightened everyone's 'quick to bite' response. Does anyone know if they're OK is all?
