I think it's a very important question, Sky; particularly the "you" part, as beauty to one is repulsive to another. Simply put, poetry to me is an artform - that which either connects or doesn't connect with me personally.

Poetry is the "worded conveyance" of ANYTHING above and beyond what individual words alone are capable of ( which is why there are no single word poems ).
And for every person who reads such, there will be a "worded reception" of SOMETHING very similar to said intended conveyance. Or not similar. Or NOTHING at all but a grouping of words will be acknowledged.
And if that sounded very dull, PsycoticMastermind will be along shortly with something more lively.

Poetry to me isn’t anything. It just is. And I think that’s important. Not that we define, but that we allow.
