Not necessarily--an account here is not needed to read most of what's on this website. He's probably browsing offline as a non-member and copy/pasting his little brains out. Unless we find a profile of his, here, or someone can and notify us, then unfortunately there's nothing we can do to stop the casual non-member browsing of DUP.
This topic has come up many times in the past, with other plagiarism instances, and even if the Webmiss made the entire page viewable to members only, then the thieves would still make an account, and still do their dirty work through the account. We'd ban them, and they'd come back with other accounts, just like all the other trouble makers seem to do--can't take the hint to stay away...
Yes, it's not fair, yes, having something stolen from you, hurts, but short of hiring a lawyer that deals with online issues and incurring costs for that, what else can one do other than badger the other website until they take action, and spread the word about the thief?

This a copy and paste of the email reply I received from the FL admin:
Hi there!
First off, I’ve deleted your other poem from his profile.
When it comes to copyright, we have a very narrow path we have to walk. Copyright law requires that we have an escalation policy in place. So we do – 1st time we delete the media (writings, in this case), 2nd time we delete the entire collection of media, 3rd time we delete the profile. So while I can’t tell you what we’ve said or done with hi (because of our privacy policies), that pretty much just said a lot right there…
We also have in place an ability to review profiles for other questionable copyright materials – where we get a report saying “I don’t think he has permission to post this” but it’s not from the copyright owner. We’ll research material, try to find the copyright owner, and then contact them to verify if they have given permission or not. That goes way beyond the requirements for copyright law. They are definitely not the highest priority of our cases – DMCAs, sex offenders, possible underage, and threats are all examples of case that have higher priority – but we do get to them.
I hope this helps explain where we’re at!

Great!
It would be perfect if we could find a way to prevent future occurrences.
Any ideas?
