That's a great first poem! Unfortunately, my first notebooks of poems were stolen along with a hope chest back in the 80's.

I remember you telling me that.

😔😢💔

Utterly heartbreaking.

I know! I'd been writing since grade school!

But it's all good! Hopefully someone enjoyed them.

If only the Universe could deliver them back into your hands. 🌌❤

Razor's Edge

Razor's edge pressed to my throat
A thin line of crimson
Words bleeding onto the page.

Feelings swirled in blood
Making an abstract poem
One born of pain.

Razor slashes deep at my heart
Anger makes it gush
Bleeding out my rage.

Red takes center stage
Filling my days, my nights
With fantasies I can't control.

Part of me so evil
Wanting to let go
I stand tottering on the razor's edge.

Soon will come sweet death
I will swim in the abyss
With my lover, who knows me best.

This structure, turns grey,
Like the moon, crumbles and decays,
Oxygen turns it blue to red,
Where will my poor atoms go?
Hell walk, so cold,
So far from the God of light,
Mercy, he says it doesn't feel right,
Take what they love and watch them die,
Skin filled with sin, hour glass redemption,
Disconnection, my life's description,
I tried so hard to not lose the ones I've lost,
But where are they now?
Billions, can't imagine,
How I came to be,
The birds will peck my eternal tree,
But at least I won't have a heart,
Stick the roses, with the box in the ground,
Need the thorns to eat,
Counting plagues and out of breath,
Where do the insects discuss politics?
Unbecoming, dis solvent,
Illusion past or no involvement,
Pretend to weep but the gas melts us away.

This was my first posted poem.  I think I wrote it a little over three years ago.

IN HELL

Fixed on love, we tore it apart
Doom was born right from the start
Wish to die, too sad to be high
As the sun undresses the sky

In this soul of gloom
I am restless too
From the blood in my eyes

Don't dive in the water
Cause I know you can't swim
Just look into the falling rain
Although life seems so grim
You'll see my haunted figure
Grasping to find your heart
Cause I, I feel your empty shell
Please don't join me in Hell

Like a ghost, howling from the shade
Betrayed all the memories we've made
In the night, sheltered from your light
I must confess that I'm dying inside

In this hollow face
Appendages stained
When death played his card
You are not alone
This pain is my home
Don't be afraid to live life

Swaying, flailing, fighting for breath
Drawn into the weakness
Crying for a last goodbye
Faces in the rain

And all I would ever want
To live those dreams again
I remember the time
When our backs were turned on the rest
Not on each other

(Not the first I published on this site, but this was my first true poem. Written some 9 years ago if memory serves.)
