Incomplete, me
Born of beauty, lust and sin; a whispered name
on lovers' wanton lips beguiles.
I trace the silken fibers of carnality, naked
and beckoning of intrinsic penetration.
A harbinger of solidarity, reflecting pools flood
the portage trail where we are set adrift on currents
that submerge sanguine expectations of solitude
rode beyond a warlord sun, a burning star.
Orgasmic waves assault walls of given surrender mercilessly
and I swallow the saffron heat of anguish. Love is cataclysmic;
I weep for it. I cling to it with Trophonian arms
and a heart imbued with dolor.
"Love is the voice under all silences,
the hope which has no opposite in fear;
the strength so strong mere force is feebleness:
the truth more first than sun, more last than star." — E.E. cummings

Desert Parnassum
After leaving Trona in The Searles Valley, I head off into the wasteland of the Panamint,
knowing for a certainty that this is one of the most remote places in the United States.
Lowmerica my country my country
May you kick and be damned
For I have left the comfort of your cities
for i have left the comfort of that
To walk through afternoons, beyond the Amargosa
Ballarat by Panamint.
Shall the slightest twig be set to spark
Too remote from optimism and brittle dry
Beside the remnants of shadscale and joshua
Radiant white and yellow as dawns,
The wild roses stew out sharp time.
Aeolus of the cactus plateau
Thumbing the pages of an old Chuckwalla,
What is a day to the blowing of the wind
Upon my heart so leanly made, like a dull and disused bone,
As rattlesnakes coil about it
and cholla grows hot and slow.
Is it for curiosity that we went this way, pray tell,
Not for sense or souvenirs, and shall trust by its scowl
That you are no wished-for guest, damnphool,
And will gain no sympathy here,
So much as any scorched and salted meat does.
Uphill between the embankment of her thighs
Sagebrush rules the street in indolence
Kissed all over by every lip of desolation, desert Parnassum
Where the first beams paced upon it's soul to surmise
And spread a million miles of deserted sun.
Young Prometheus stealing fire
This is the lodestone bursting bright
In oneself the world waits, searching its shape,
In quicksand merging death merging life
As when that moment when, much more
Than madnesses which copper and gold inspire,
The human smell is dusted blood
Like a ruby held up to the sky gushing light
and god is in the sunrise
and the night
Is filled with galaxies forever.

Last Love Letter
she wrote to him,
until the ink ran dry
she needed to give herself closure
no matter how hard
she couldn't read the pages
her eyes became blurred
she folded them together
without a thought or word
letting her tongue glide
along the edge
she locked the note
inside an envelope
she wrote his name
on the outside
to send it to the stars,
she lit it on fire and
watched it drift afar
until the ink ran dry
she needed to give herself closure
no matter how hard
she couldn't read the pages
her eyes became blurred
she folded them together
without a thought or word
letting her tongue glide
along the edge
she locked the note
inside an envelope
she wrote his name
on the outside
to send it to the stars,
she lit it on fire and
watched it drift afar

Dreamlight Friendship
His friendship, like a ribbon of melody
heard only in quiet nights
subtle like roses rustling
as their blooms inhale the wind
it is he that sits under the moon
revels on the wind upon his face
grateful for a life though not perfect
extracting wonder in his every day
he shares no pompous words
nor does he crave for accolades
just a right to exhale inhale
on his own little patch of sun
a caring hello...telepathic touch
of a kindred spirit
lift his aloneness a little
the smile on his lips linger longer
he has the quiet fire of a poet
an element that symbolises strength
and he sends flowers
unpretentious friendship.

Winking onyx pools
Drowning in your eyes
Soft lips make the rules
Surely telling lies
Beating greecian veins
Under tender silken lips
To wander through these plains
To sails with these ships
Sun kissed olive skin
Caress my name and face
Another game I cannot win
Faced with time and space
The sunset has me envious
It will linger on your face
Caressing kind flirtatious
Another girl will share this place
Drowning in your eyes
Soft lips make the rules
Surely telling lies
Beating greecian veins
Under tender silken lips
To wander through these plains
To sails with these ships
Sun kissed olive skin
Caress my name and face
Another game I cannot win
Faced with time and space
The sunset has me envious
It will linger on your face
Caressing kind flirtatious
Another girl will share this place

Gahddess_Worship said:I have done myself a disservice by not reading the beautiful poetry of Jemac until now. A consummate poet.
Happy to have been of service in spreading the awesome poetry of DUP members around. I call it mixing unknown surface residue with Deep Undersoil. Provides more of two important elements, air & water into the soil. *curtsies*

You are Every Little Thing
Within you
Is
A
Story.
Within you
Beats
An
Ecstasy
Of
Emotion.
You are
Irreplaceable
You are
Without
Pattern
Or structure
No one
Can Be
Who
You
Prevail
As.
No one
Can
Know
Who you
Are
With out
Giving
Them
A
P A T H
You are you,
And
That
Is
Your
Power.
Is
A
Story.

a date with my dad
my dad loved women, fast cars
the finer things in life
though some would call him a good ole boy
being a crop dusting pilot
he loved me
my parents divorced when I was just a baby
I recall awaiting him at the window on visiting day
so happy to see him
I found out today he was a writer
see I hear the dead
more than any my dad
he looks over my shoulder when i'm typing
tells me he's proud
never knew he wrote
I miss him though we didn't see things the same
he's shown me a vision of me at three pig tails and all
running into his arms while on bent knee
says that'll be us
on the day I pass
from this life to the next
we have a date and he'll be there
