Poetry Contest

Write a nostalgic poem filled with an array of things reminiscent of that time. .If you're writing about the 20's you might include Jazz..flapper girls, and speak easies. The 80's Pacman, the rubix cube and Duran Duran!
May be from any angle or any genre!
Just make it reek with nostalgia WITHOUT saying the decade.
People will be welcome to make a guess.
Gotta give clues not dead give aways..by consumer products, music, hairstyles, clothes. The kind of dances people were doing..
Movies or telivision can be an indication.
Only thing you cannot mention...the president! Though you can refer to world events.

New entries...
No colabs..
2 weeks.

My example piece..00's rock. Mih 20's music....

Calamity a go go

Devils beat a go go
Body move
To junkie poet twist philosopher
A Disco funk mystery man
Hip roll groove

Oh my soul to taste a bit more
Of my young girl
Rock n Roll

I slide to dance floor
No care in this world
Gin lipped and mind flicked
To off and grind

Man stuck to my behind
Hang on all the young dudes!
Gonna be a bumble bee ride
That sweet Melon sunk out

Oh but what a big shout his guitar made me woman
To disco Lemonade
Sex and Candy Marcy's
Big grenade

Peace at 4 AM I cried
Reverie by mad hatter rap
Picked me up by 7 Ms
Maniacal grin fast selling crazy sin

Ah! they did move me to many
Nights looong good fuck
My 20s music
Taste it again?
With luck

T or E

I dreamt one night
I had the choice
To attend one
Of two parties

One was being held
In room Jaguar Type-E
Who’d behind that door?
I asked the concierge

Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison
Janis Joplin & Timothy Leary
And a one hundred and one
Beautiful groupies

Then I asked him
Who's behind door Model T?
F. Scott Fitzgerald and Zoey
Gabriel Channel & Leon Stravinsky

I wanted to party hardy
But live to party again
So I chose the door Model T
And the concierge let me in

Besides,
I always wanted
To do coke
With Coco

A Sixties Soul

Oh those days! a sixties soul am I
When horny girls queued at my fly
Eager to try my pocket rocket
I could fuck, lick suck any socket

The generation of war held sway no more
We were young, free, glory fuckin' be
Music was fresh, new, whoo fuckin' hoo!
Free love, the pill, the guiltless screw

The Beatles rocked our generation
Gone was  musical constipation
Elvis Prestley, the man was King
Made us dance and he made us to sing

Live fast, live now, that was our only truth
Spending recklessly, fecklessly the bright coins of youth
In nineteen sixty aged eighteen and fit
I wanted it all and didn't give a shit

Travelled the world saw peace and war
Those times they were worth fighting for
A shallow life?  hedonistic and vain?
Fuck! I wish I could do it all again!

Time machine

I liked it back in the old days
When you twisted your lips together
Before you parted them to shout
Where they had no idea what hokey pokey was
And turnt themselves around and walked out
Where they crypted walked down the street
To a beatbox beat
Those were the good old days special to me

Oh those days when rain was oh so sweet
Tasted like candy coated rain drops to me
But oh my love do you ever believe
That such a skittled flavour could be
I said love? Omg am i sprung ?
How'd they get me?
Im like a mind controlled zombie
Doing things ive never done
But calling it good old fashioned fun
Those where the good old days
The days i felt free

Bum buhbum buuuhhhbuhhhbuhh bum bum bum
Thats the drums as we go back
Back in time to the crimeless streets
Where the notes were hummed
And we tapped our feet
Dropped it low and hit it up high
Didnt you love the electric slide
Man those were the good old days
That made me happy

Now they act like im a master
Cause they say watch me whip that nae nae
Like im to watch a prisoner on thier execution day
But its not that serious
Im just a musical slave
These are truly the good old days

But if tomorow will bring a better you or better me
Then why live for today ...lets hope for tomorrow
After all our time is simply borrowed
But for now im like a bird ill only fly away
I dont know where my soul is
But I know where my home is
Its within this time machine that lets me relive all my better days

The 90's an unexpected journey:

The start of a new era
Where technology runs the world
The transition from mechanical to electrical was completed

The decade South Africa was finally free
of racial discrimination
To celebrate we won
the 1995 Rugby World Cup

All these things would make the 90's
memorable but forgettable
There is another reason why however
this decade is remembered more than all others

Their movies
Toy Story my first film where I lost my virginity
screaming "To infinity and beyond!" along with Buzz lightyear
The Matrix where you pick the red or the blue film
Forrest Gump saying "Life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're gonna find"
Jurassic Park the birth of dinosaurs and Spielberg's best work
Arnold Swarzeneggar saying "Asta la vista baby"
Fight Club with Edward Norton speaking to himself

All these things make the 90's the best

Thanks very much Highway, no big deal, was in the rules to elude to the era without naming the decade...part of the creativity.. But it ain't no thang, great entry sweetheart.. Very iconic choices in lines and movies..some spelling stuff, if you're quoting a line I'd try and copy and paste .
But I really really enjoyed this from you highway..its concise and well written, and a lot of fun...you know our tastes and ideas don't nessesarily match normally, but I'd go on a movie date! Lol thank you very much for your entry doll...its really appreciated!

Lyrical! Hi sweetness, thanks for this very creative fun entry...there were things in here I truly enjoyed.. The candy rain, skittle flavored, the music vibe, time machine was cool...but I'm not sure what era this was...there weren't that many indicators, and none specific enough to nail it down for me...if I had to guess from the atmosphere you created I'd say the 50's? But the electric slide was supposed to have came about in the mid 70's and that was the only for sure thing... Exept you said pre hokey pokey...that was one of my fav clues actually...maybe you were time machinin all ova! Which is cool. I did really dig you putting the love poem spin on it! It was a fun entry Miss, and I'm thrilled by it, thank you sooo much!
