Duh power went out once innduh month
uv May.
Itt wuz darkher den uh mofoe.
Butt eye wuzint skard
cuz eye new eye wuzz savin' cashollah on
mai lectric bill.
Itt wuz dat tyme dat tawt me tew never
bee skard.
Itt wuzzda cheepist lectric bill
eye ever gott.
Know monstirss ever kame out ethir.

Liquid Life. Living Dead.
Soulless evil. Off with her head.
I am the monster. I defy death.
Dying slowly. Put up a fight.
Bleeding quickly. Infecting the bite.
I am a demon. I am the night.
Walk between worlds. Between death and life.
I am not hurt by the point of a knife.
I am the damned. I am a fright.
Sired by insanity in an alleyway.
I died a death that no one knew, everyone looked away.
My body walks, my soul is gone, a heavy price to pay.
I cannot die.
I already am.
I cannot live.
I already have.
I hate myself for loving the pain.
The day I died was my darkest day.
It created a monster that can't be controlled,
It made my body immortal and it stole my soul.
Soulless evil. Off with her head.
I am the monster. I defy death.
Dying slowly. Put up a fight.
Bleeding quickly. Infecting the bite.
I am a demon. I am the night.

The Necromancer
“My dearest, death will not keep us apart,
Neither heaven nor hell will put distance between us
For my heart will surely resurrect our love
Past these days and throughout the ages…”
He said the words with conviction
As he caressed and kissed her lips.
“My love”, she uttered in an angelic tone
“This body is only but a vessel of emotion
That connects me to you in this world,
Be with me one more time so we can be as one
And release the life force we have shared these days.”
He loved her over and over again
Until he was spent and satisfied,
But her body was already cold,
Her eyes already closed,
And he swore to himself
He would summon on all his power and knowledge
Of the dark arts and bring her back to life.
Then he collapsed next to her on the floor…
In the morning his supervisor discovered them.
He was arrested within hours and her body
taken back to the coroner’s office for additional inspection.
At his trial, he swore that he was trying
to bring them all back to life and that he had
the ability to resurrect them.
We voted unanimously and he was given
ten years in a mental institution.

The Fading
there is within me
the ghost of a girl
trying to claw her way out
of this body she haunts
I roam from room to room
in my mind’s infected mansion
trying to find answers
to unknown questions
sometimes I sit in my bedroom for days
till my body feels as if
it’s adhered to my seat
staring at static on the television screen
an incessant hum of broken voices
reminding me of when the hands started
flailing and groping
how I learned to cower into a ball
become invisible
or at least
project my soul
somewhere entirely else
I called it the fading
only now
it’s so ingrained in me
I find myself walking sometimes
and suddenly I grow all staticky
my body's projection flashing
and skipping on the screen of the world
soon you can see right through me
run a hand through me
to where
poof
I simply do not exist anymore
