If Colors Could Speak
Tarnished Blue
through the faded curtain secrets shine
through their watered down kindness you hear a scream
when the scream dissolves you see tarnished blue
the fruit's not real, the furniture weak
the sky is torn, ragged white peirces the peace
the scratches on the wall aren't from mice
through the starless night fears spread
through the empty house thoughts meander
when the thoughts escape you see tarnished blue
the smiles aren't meant for me
the sun doesn't shine on my corner
the broken crayons aren't from other children
through the fake shimmer of love, hatred burns
through the tattered blinds you see a crime
when you look away the shame fills you, tarnishes you
the hands reach out to take you, shake you
the smile's twisted, lip curled wickedly
the bruises aren't from falling down
through the distant music you hear her
through the wandering trees you see her
when you try to remember all you see is tarnished blue
the ripping fabric is a freight train in the silence
the motions are endless nightmares in the day
the tears aren't from neglect
through her eyes you see her pain
through his eyes you see no guilt
when he looks at you, you feel his fiery anger
the memories slowly fade
the tarnish may someday wipe away for good
the tears may all spill out someway
until then, I'll be, she'll be...tarnished blue

yellow said i am a canary
yellow said i am a banana
i am not a banana said the canary
the banana dreamed of wings while
the bulbous bud of pink and orange
grew older with the seasons
and said she would love a yellow banana
the banana said wait till i'm ripe baby
green said the banana's my man, bitch
and i'll bruise your peach ass purple
if you touch his stem with your pink slut
peach pondered the pros
and cons of yellow and purple
out of the blue
black shrieked
the canary is dead
who put her in the dark mind
she is not yellow anymore
but ashen like me
green laid envious punches by her side
peach felt bruised without a touch
all the good people on the yellow submarine
crushed in the depths of age
dead with spots like rotten bananas
and poor poor canary
red said i'll bring a rose to lay on the grave
blue too blue to speak, hid behind
the heaving sigh of grey that blanketed the day
white fell mournfully from the empyrean bed
like crystal tears to lay a hand on poor black
wrapped now like a coffin round the withered bird
lavender rose and spoke of the
eternal fade and the pot of golden
moments that drip from the arching rainbow of time
in novel shades from the dreams of the dead
dearly beloved she said we are gathered here today
and every day, married in pigments of joy and pain
our canary will live again
in the burgeoning face of spring
in the morning star as we turn from mourning
in the diamond spark on the crest of the shimmering waves
our canary will live again

The storm clouds roll out
To obscure those blue skies
Days of blue quickly losing
And the sun fades away
Calm skies surely die
When strong winds shatter
That what was so tranquil
Then the tears drop harshly
The thunder sounds deadly
When the lightning strikes
The fleeing ones away
From mother nature's wrath
I tremble at godly might
The hammer on my chest
I listen for his passing
As Thor walks across my path

Too many awesome entries to note, and it was a tough call, and had to go with the most standout after Kitty, for runner up. Wish I could give runner up to all, officially, but alas, I can only do two even though you all deserve it!
