Poetry Contest Description
Write a poem on honour.
Do you still recognise it? is it to be cast aside? is it unreasonable? do you judge people by their honour?
Think of a time you did something for the sake of your honour or someone else's
Or a person you consider honourable and write on it/him
(There is way too many mention of "honour" in my description - i know, i know- *hiss* *curse* *boo*...)
Mind you, these are only ideas... the golden rule is this-
Write a poem on honour.
20 lines max.
Goodluck!

I'll be back for this one. Any limits on number of entries? I have a shit-ton of ideas all of the sudden. :3

Where is the honour
most of all
it's in the silence
point being
I feel I've lost a bit
just for typing those few words
most of all
it's in the silence
point being
I feel I've lost a bit
just for typing those few words

"The Warrior" (Cut down to 20 lines)
Raising my weapon
aiming
firing
watching a head ripped apart
the turban turning red
Anxiously combing
through Baghdad’s homes
hoping to shoot and kill
Invading a region
on a mission
gone terribly awry
Fallujah’s urban warfare
bullets sizzling by
Insurgents scattered in the streets
with bullet riddled bodies
Dodging friendly fire of incompetence
and the brawls that ensued
I miss the unspeakable
that haunts at night
yet drifts into nostalgia by day
Raising my weapon
aiming
firing
watching a head ripped apart
the turban turning red
Anxiously combing
through Baghdad’s homes
hoping to shoot and kill
Invading a region

~Honouring, John~
Hard and rigid is he
that stands proud
next to old glory
with his coldhearted
M16 and battle
crying infantry
ice cold sweat
turned honoured vet.
resurrected sculptures
carved mirrored stones
these fellow soldiers
deserve thrones of gold
receiving brass
while picking lead
from their ass
few good men[bled]
bring them home again
may the honouring
never end !!
Thank you again.

Honour Your Trust
We sat beneath the stars,
And whilst heaven sang, you cried.
I did not see the break in the love that was ours,
No, I was blind... Until you died.
But I swore to stay the way I was that night,
I swore to love you forever.
This pain haunts me, it's my constant plight.
I'll keep my honour and hope that this gets better.
