I'm gonna slip in another one
Darker than black
the evening drops like fresh dew upon waking grass
stealing comfort with its swift lonely gust
from the clouds looming above the fading light,
a cold embrace like that of death itself.
the tasteless sky, ablaze in ruby fire
swallowing whole secrets, drawing tears
renditions of grief on this canvas of life
painting the light of a silvery moon.
as night creeps upon the world
the lingering sadness turns to fleeting despair
in the black all things become one, as if wellstained
still curtains conceal what the shadows cannot.
