Flexible Writing

This competition was inspired by GiGi's 'Can you truly write anything ?' competition. The goal is to write three poems, one pertaining to each of the following categories:
  -Blood, gore, et cetera
  -Love
  -Hatred
The winner will be the one to do the best in ALL THREE CATEGORIES. If you do not enter one for each category, you will not qualify to actually win. Additionally, you must comply with the following rules, no loop holes:
  -No sexual references
  -No racial slurs
  -Limited cursing... be reasonable, if it's too much, I'll let ya know
  -No poems longer than 30 lines
  -One entry per person per category
  -Collabs ARE allowed
You have two weeks.

Head-hunters (Blood and Gore)

Through the jungles they run
On silent feet the warriors
Run with the wind at their back
Their long hair swishing
They are marauding tonight
To hunt for human heads
To prove their valor

Full clash the tribal enemies
From trees they drop to the ground below
Swishes of machetes and swords
And venom-ed darts from blowpipes
They harvest each other in glee
To get their coveted trophy
No one's spared

Back to the village they danced
With rows of heads on their pack
Caught in death last grimaces
Blood dripping to the ground
Headhunters returned and the maiden
Danced to the warriors trophies
Signs of valour signs of strength
Kill a man without a twinge.

Love story (Love)

Looking into his eyes
They are reflections of the sky
Drowning me in a whirlpool
Of wants, needs and desires
I stare into them and fly
In a phantasmagoric world
The core of me in exquisite
pain and ache of needs

I walk into his arms
And lost my soul within
He has become my all
He is my world
I have come home
His heart is my sky
His love my ground
I love him with all my strength

Kill her (Hatred)

Kill her now
Why don’t you
A knife on your hand
What’s it for
Just kill her
And get her out of the way

What now
You coward
How can you hope to be free
When you can’t kill her
You can’t be free
If you allow her to live

What did you say
She is dead?
No she is not
She lives in your head
She lives in your heart
Kill it….kill her

Very nicely done, Grace. You may have an unair advantage, as your the only one to enter thus far, but you're in the lead! XD! Anymore entries? I was hoping to get more than just one. And you don't have to enter them all at once, you can enter them as you write them.

Nothing? Really? Just, kinda depressed that I'm this terrible at hosting competitions.

No worries, they will come by and by. This is an interesting and commendable competition.

Well thank you Grace for the encouragement, and thank you Shadoe for showing an interest. Ya know, I've seen you too around a LOT, but I never took the time to check you guys out. I'll be checking you guys out now, and then I'll do my final skim for updates before igning off for the day.

Life

(Love)

I never knew unselfish love
until I heard your heartbeat flutter
one hundred and eighty perfect beats per minute
I felt you move inside me
and my heart swelled with emotion
as you made pin point protrusions
on my swollen belly
You taught me that love is blind
never seeing your face
but loving you more than life
just a little bean on a grainy sonogram
but I'd loved you since you were two pink lines

(Gore)

Hunched over in a cold, sterile room
a thin needle finds it's way between vertebrae
spreading numbing liquid through nerves
as I listened to your failing heartbeat
Staring into theatre lights
watching the incision reveal my insides
blood rich organs keeping my alive
touched and moved by gloved hands
Muscle and tissue prised apart
tugged open like a warm, flesh zipper
as life is ripped from my womb
and takes its first breath

(Hate)

Till today, I hate myself for it
for failing as a woman
your little life entrusted to me
and my body caved after eleven hours
too exhausted to carry on
and push you from your distress
The self-loathing so overwhelming
each time I stare at the pale scar
a mocking reminder that I wasn't woman enough
For the longest time, I wanted to die
but your tiny hand around my finger
kept me tethered
to where I was needed most

VERY touching, Shadoe. However, in the description, I asked for three seperate poems. Please understand, I am extremely impressed, but it does fail to meet the requirements. You can count that towards one category, and post the other two later if you'd like.

Love

Repeat the Broken Lovers
“He won’t be coming back”,
I keep on telling her, over and over
But it’s like screaming a mantra
At one who cannot hear.
She lies wasting away,
From the cancer that wracks
Her body into submission.
But she will hear none of it,
Never letting her delusions of
Star-crossed lovers and soul bonding
Leave her mind. She carries
A love for him that reaches
The point of insanity,
Believing without question
That he will return to her
With a rose in hand, spouting off
Limericks about her beauty
And epic poems about their
Destiny together.
She simply wants him to come back
And complete her, two halves of the same whole,
Coming together to be whole
Once again, even if it the time to be had
Is short and fleeting.

Anna, I dunno if it was your honest entry or if you were joking, but your 'hate' entry was actually kinda funny. I find amusement in the fact that you turned the table and wrote ABOUT the competition that you were writing FOR.

WONDERFUL entry Erin. I await your future two entries eagerly. You guys are ALL doing fantastic, and I can't wait to see more people enter.
