A promise or Promises Made
Write a story poem about a promise you made to yourself/loved ones/parents/beliefs that you have every intention to fulfill. What prompt that promise and why do you want to fulfill it at all cost.

NEVER AGAIN
Never again will my people be forgotten
Never again will my people be persecuted
If someone says Auschwitz never existed
Then how did my mother walk out of it
If they say the Holocaust was a hoax
How come my mother looked Mengele in the eye
If you wonder how my family in Budapest survived
Then think of Raoul Wallenberg and the schutzpass
I have visited Masada and I have visited York
We will kill ourselves and all of you
Rather than to submit and be slaves again
I therefore promise myself
In memory of those martyrs
Who are looking down from Heaven
That I will never again go down without fighting
Although Israel is not perfect
It is a psychological haven
To think that in this hostile world
We may be safe
So I promise
To fight
To kill
For the right
Of my people to live
For those of you
Who believe me not
Remember all the people
Who no longer exist
Well we are still around
And I promise you
We will be around
When all of you
Are in the ground!

Still glow with love,
Reserved only for me,

A beautiful soul,

I'll do whatever I can,

I vow i shall keep,
Till cancer ceases to exist,

That promise...
I told myself I'd be happy
not let the years stagnate
again
the day I learned that time did fly
and was never given back
I promised me
that I'd be a better friend
to myself
make some real use of
what time was left
I'm trying like hell
to not make me out a liar
struggling to keep that hope
hanging on by the strings
of every guitar riff and note
forcing a smile in the arrogant face
of every dawn, grinning at every storm cloud
like I have a rainbow fetish or some shit
and I feel the tug of that promise made
and I remember the shape I found me in
when I gave it
So I'm picking daffodils
and getting some sun
pretending the teeth of reality
don't bite my ass all day
and the parts of night that find me sober
knowing one thing
when I'm sure of nothing else
I'm no damn liar
that was NOT a lie!

We engaged and I promised
I promised to cut myself open

The Other Eye
There was a crash
from afar,
the shatter of I, me , another queen
with a sailor standing on a cliff
holding a stolen eye
There was a bard
I finally found
lost in the old momentums,
then queen broke his lying mirror lustfully
and taught him to defy
to see clearer
The mind being made of glass
he saw and held,
Is taught him to believe
that I rather be dead than
revel in being, closeminded, because
thee must be dead to the world.
Dear bard
my other poet, you are found now,
my other eye, Came has Come
the plato from your shatter island I will always
keep
Question is, how far can you see?
