Kindly ask for further clarification if necessary.

Romantic affair

A romantic affair, also called an affair of the heart, may refer to sexual liaisons among unwed parties, or to various forms of nonmonogamy. Unlike a casual relationship, which is a physical and emotional relationship between two people who may have sex without expecting a more formal romantic relationship, an affair is by its nature romantic. Affair may also describe part of an agreement within an open marriage or open relationship, such as swinging, dating, or polyamory, in which some forms of sex with one's non-primary partner(s) are permitted and other forms are not. Participants in open relationships, including unmarried couples and polyamorous families, may consider sanctioned affairs the norm, but when a non-sanctioned affair occurs, it is described as infidelity and may be experienced as adultery, or a betrayal both of trust and integrity, even though to most people it would not be considered "illicit".

When a romantic affair lacks both overt and covert sexual behaviour and yet exhibits intense or enduring emotional intimacy it may be referred to as an emotional affair, platonic love, or a romantic friendship.

Extramarital affair

Main articles: Infidelity, Adultery, and Extramarital sex
Extramarital affairs are relationships outside of marriage where an illicit romantic or sexual relationship or a romantic friendship or passionate attachment occurs.

An extramarital affair that continues in one form or another for years, even as one of the partners to that affair passes through marriage, divorce and remarriage, could be considered the primary relationship and the marriages secondary to it. This may be serial polygamy or other forms of nonmonogamy.

The ability to pursue serial and clandestine extramarital affairs whilst safeguarding the secrets and conflict of interest inherent in the practice, requires skill in deception and duplicitous negotiation. Even to hide one affair requires a degree of skill or malicious gaslighting. All these behaviors are more usually called lying.

Deception can be defined as the "covert manipulation of perception to alter thoughts, feeling, or beliefs". The presence of deception may indicate the degree to which the deceiver has breached fundamental conditions of fidelity, of reciprocal vulnerability and of transparency. Sometimes these are explicit or assumed pre-conditions of a committed intimate relationships.
Individuals having affairs with married men or women can be prosecuted for adultery in some jurisdictions and can be sued by the jilted spouses in others,[1] or named as 'co-respondent' in divorce proceedings. As of 2009, eight U.S. states permitted such alienation of affections lawsuits.[1]

Online affair

The appearance of computer-mediated communication introduces a new type of communication and consequently a new type of "affair". There are various kinds of computer-mediated communication that differ in some significant aspects: one-to-one or group communication formats, interrelating with anonymous or identified people, and communicating in synchronous or asynchronous formats.[2] Online affairs combine features of close and remote relationships.

Ben Ze'ef argues that an online affair is a unique kind of affair—termed "detached attachment", or just "detachment"—that includes opposing features whose presence in a face-to-face affair would be paradoxical. Like direct, face-to-face affairs, online affairs can be spontaneous and casual and show intensive personal involvement. However, online affairs can also be more of a planned discourse than spontaneous talk; like written letters, online messages can be stored and thus have permanent presence, which is absent from face-to-face affairs.[3]

People participating in online affairs may be strangers to each other in the sense that they have never actually met each other. However, they are also close to each other since they share intimate information. In online affairs, people try to enjoy the benefits of both close and remote affairs, while avoiding their flaws. People enjoy the highly valued products of close affairs while paying the low cost of remote affairs. As one woman wrote: 'He constantly told me that he can not provide me with what I would want and I would always respond with: "I'm not asking anything from you, but simply enjoy your company".[4]

Yes it can....but make sure your FONT is large
and it is DOUBLE SPACED....I have vision problems.

Yes I do use zoom but when words are crowded together
I find it an obstacle course in reading.

Thanks

I avoided the prose for your eyes, and went for the shortened poetic version instead, Kitty

The bed we made[/u]

"You're a bitch" you said;
I laughed at your words.
We were on our tenth glass of truth
and slightly hazed
we were loud and uncouth
in those beautiful, wild days

I'd rolled another cheap cigarette
and the air was already heavy with regret
as you grabbed me playfully
on the living room floor
"See - a total bitch"
You smiled.

I loved it when you kissed me
I loved the way your body curled into mine,
your strong arms that pinned my hands to the floor
every time in drunken serenade
the way you would hold me until sunlight
in the adulterous bed we made

and when we made coffee in the morning
to the headache crescendo inside,
your little finger would curl against mine;
In my life - you were the happy time,
the married man I loved
when things simply got too tough

And it was never, ever enough.

Scolding Apollo -

When she was a little girl
a Trojan Horse was held
in her hand, carving
stiff hidden intentions.

A girl's anger became just another
constipated state of affairs
stuffed full of the shit
she was forced to swallow.

Snakes curled in the temples, flicking
their infected tongues in innocent places.

And she had a rage to release
in the way legends are made;
Heaping pilefuls to be spoken of
in years to come.

Throwing it back in their faces
prophesying to these mad
monkey men, these Cercopes
refused to see her dank doom.

You were hiding
in pretty myths back then...
when her truth pushed itself out.
Yeah You ! were just playing a God

while she was screaming for one.

Such sullen
masked faces,
seemingly out of place,
devoid of mutual love.
They pretend existence,
living in wasteland-lives,
wearing the circadian rhythm
on sunken shoulders,
unemotional-robotic.

Oh,
to feel love again,
that melting,
for boldness
they must!

For a few fiery moments,
passion-sparks fly
on electric fingertips,
their eyes roll back,
they disappear
on crimson trails,
reaching fresh
exhilarating heights
only to fall again.

Their lonely hearts still murmur
secrets of selfish unfulfilled lusts.
The bond-trust forever broken,
their unspoken pain drives them
to catch sensual repeat-affections.
If true could ever be found,
their discreet-affliction
would turn to dust
at their
running feet.
Yet still, the
cycle continues
robust.

Fantastic friends can be fickle.
=========
She started off as that
innocent school girl
who loved my poetry
and then a bear of a friend
took hold of her
but she kept
her eyes
on me
and she heeded
every beck and call
at 2 am
and ignored his calls
and he stopped calling her
and she started
calling me
and i stopped calling her
because she
was at my place.

Love's Regret

I never meant for it too happen
The understanding of who I was
What I was going through
The compassion and care
Your listening ear ….

I was in pain and never saw it coming
the soft caress, of a strong hand
A smile, a kind word and soon
I became undone, looking forward
to that moment of being in your presence again

At what point does simple friendship
become so much more than that
At what point does the gratitude
turn to lust, and the wanting
begins in earnest

It is 6am the sunlight is streaming in
my eyes open from a satiated sleep
A sleep that had not been experienced
in years,
The fear, the dread replaces the joy of the
passion well spent….

     Release Me

I love your soft tender touch
The way you whisper in my ear full of desire
I give a gasp of sweet surrender
Take me to your bed tonight
Oh how I ache for you
Your passion fuels my fire
We need no spoken words
We have no promises to keep
We have no lies being told
We look back
with no regrets
Oh baby how I long for you
To hold me tight
Kiss me softly , I feel your passion
Such a perfect night
Everthing feels right
Make mad passionate love to me
But we have such precious little time
As you are vowed to another
Knowing that our tomarrow will bring
about such sweet sarrow
Thoughts of a brief moment of shame
All I take with me is a memory of one glorious night
 release me from my passion

- For Michael -

You call yourself a paradox,
And sometimes I can’t figure you out.
Your heart is bound with so many locks,
That I wonder if life makes you pout!
I’m with someone who’s cold as ice,
Though she thinks she’s as fiery as me.
But I’m caught up in your poetic device,
I’m lost in a paradox, floating free.
So many lonely nights I spend crying,
My past is filled with pains I never tell.
I fall in love with people good at lying,
And I wonder if love is some kind of hell?
I long for something finer than this…
And in your oblivion, do you dream too,
Of a girl who longs for true love’s bliss?
Don’t tell anyone, but I long for you!
Don’t feel awkward, don’t you fear,
And don’t let other girls make you cry.
I’d never do that; I’d keep you near,
To my heart, and then we’d fly…
Anywhere we could feel more at ease,
Than in this deep underground of souls.
Do you dream at nights of some peace?
Of a woman who whispers, consoles,
And helps you to forget old hurts?
I dream of a man who can do the same!
I’m more: than just all my poetic words,
Do you think of me, your mind aflame?
I find myself thinking of you at times,
My mind spinning, my heart spinning…
As I read your heart-felt rhymes.
I feel like I’m sinning!
I’m with someone I don’t really love,
But I have to tell her that I do…
Before the very stars above!
But I do feel something for you.
She ignores me most nights,
Then she calls me her goddess!
We don’t have any fights,
But I’m filled with distress.
Lonely and longing, for I know not what,
My emotions are in a wild frenzy.
But for now I’ll just shut up…
And dream: of a happier destiny.
