Help me..
Oh no! That is so tragic.
I know my "Stages of Grief", though one of my first poems and might need sprucing up, has helped various people that I know, to understand what they are and will be going through. I don't know if there is anything in it that will help you write, but feel free to take what you want from it, if there is anything.

Devilish
I feel for you.
I think though four days is no real time to be in a trance after such a tragedy and if I am really honest I can't see the best poem in the world bringing him much comfort.
The best you can do is be there for him , for when he does break (i'm assuming the stage of grief he is in has not reached that stage yet) and try help out with the kids etc.
I have no idea what he is going through but I can imagine and know one or two people who have gone through it.
I'ts going to be a long process so be prepared.

As Eamon said , the only thing you can do is try to be there for him and help him with the kids as this is beyond anything that can be measured , it really is an appauling time and I wish and hope for some justice and peace to be served for you , your brother and family at this time ... Diddi
Ok your all right. thank you .. ive just always been able to cure everything with a poem.. if you will.. in reality there is nothing that can touch this.. much appreciated .. and please know i dont share such things.. so i appreciate the input.. much respect..
I know I have been the only one to post a poem, or so it seems... But I, like you, cure everything with a poem. I lost someone very dear t me as well, and I have not yet posted this poem on DU yet mostly b ecuase it is a way of me letting something go... But I understand how poetry helps to heal somewounds and I am very sorry for the loss... It is something no person should ever have to go through.

to warm my saddened face,
and when I close my eyes
I can feel your warm embrace.
I think of you…
When the stars at night
light up the black-lit sky
and when I hear a love song
with a sad goodbye
I think of you
When I lay down at night
And I close my eyes to sleep
I see your deep blue eyes on mine
And silently start to weep
I think of you
when the sun goes down
and the air begins to chill,
when I look to the skies and see your face
... You are a memory I cannot erase.

Troubled bronchitis
A cough to start off a series of uncontrollable suffering.
These could be tales of fiction to some.
Weird to think that there was a time when everything was normal.
Unaware of how serious it could spread among us men.
Party and workout along as if nothing was starting.
What is this now?
This just got worse in the body of me.
Attacks of short air spasms so scary at times.
Nobody deserves such.
Today there's good and bad.
To take a man from his addictions is as bad as bad gets.
Better days are here now.
Recovering from it.
