Silent sobs and flowing tears
they leave deep marks
upon my heart
like wolverine claws
so deep they cut
acidic tears
add to the hurt

Wounded Spirit

My love is wasted my heart is trashed
You was the razor blade that fatally slashed
My chest wide open and ripped out my organ
You watched me bleed like I wasn't important
You made many promises that you couldn't keep
Each lie you told was another inch deep
That the weapon you've used has entered my flesh
The one who stole my breath and responsible for my death
Many lovers performed an autopsy and noticed the scars
Also the bruises disguised as beauty marks
They always try to investigate hoping to find the culprit
The injuries you've caused have left me insulted
I'm scarred for life, destroyed, and ruined
The anger, the hurt, the pain you've influenced
Is unlike any other I have ever experienced
Now I'm a ghost of your past who spirit is furious
With your tainted blade your name is engraved
Into my inner being I couldn't be saved
There wasn't enough stiches to close up my wounds
But don't worry I'll be back to haunt you real soon

Landscape Of Her Flesh

Jumping to conclusions is what he did best
Always out to cause perpetual fear and unrest
He didn’t know as much as he thought
Figments of his imagination his driving force

Lashing out time and time again
These scenes were a great deal more violent when
fueled with some type of drug or alcohol
Beating her with loaded guns and thrusting them
into her mouth

Inflicting physical and mental injury that would
resonate a life time
A rainbow of bruises emerged each time, for all to see
of  purple, black, yellow, red and blue, at times tinted
grayish green

When silent infliction is what he most desired
he chose to use a knife instead of his fists
A blade could be stealthy and he liked that notion
especially when acting out the slicing motion
He was aroused at the sight of her blood flowing from
the wounds freshly created

Her flesh now engraved with all his rage, the bruises
faded the scars became the landscape of her flesh
making her wish she’d cease to exist

He spaced out his pulsation as to always have a story,
of how he came to her rescue and then reveled in all the glory

Holding On

Desperately holding on
to something
in the last hour
you don't know
it let you go
it already had a hold
of you
before you knew
way before you could cower .
You've slipped away
on the appointed day
nobody escapes
the stairwell tower.
Life
the compulsory addiction
post existence
the impossible prediction .
Running away
from the spiritual crew
you dont know
that before you were born
it already had you .
We are reaching for a life
with no pain
maybe we can
on another plain.

These bruises...
These cuts and scrapes... my battle scars.
I both inflicted them and took them willingly...
Willingly and eagerly.
Eagerly I stabbed and slashed
at the body that was once intact.

These bruises...
These cuts and scrapes... my battle scars.
I, with them, grasped reality.
That in life, i would always have pain.
They could be bruises and go away,
or they could be scars and remain...

But these bruises...
These cuts and scrapes... my battle scars.
I cannot fathom a life that wasnt once "ours".
I am and they are part of me.
Part of me and of whom I will be...

How many hearts must you break,
For yours to find the cure,
How many lives must you destroy,
For yours to feel impure?

How many times must you play,
Your sick little game,
You do it for fun,
Have you no shame?

You hurt me,
You shattered my heart,
You're quite good at it actualy,
Youve got it down to an art.

Friends tell me to move on,
How could I,
My love for you,
I cannot deny.

I still see you as perfect,
Maybe I'm blind,
I just can't,
Leave what we had behind.

If three months ago was the hardest part,
What's this,
You're always on my mind,
You're the only thing I miss.

I want nothing more,
Than to look into your eyes,
And hear you say you love me,
Although I know it's lies.

When you read this,
I hope you'll think of me,
I want what we had,
But it can never be.

You're with him,
And I'm still broken,
Haunted by words,
By words I left unspoken.

Congratulations firebyrd for winning the competition: Your poem is beautiful; it grabbed me, especially the hurt that seems to emanate through your words. They are simply delivered. KristynAshley, I relate with your poem and reading it gave me flashbacks. Rosewingangels, your poem seems to have that subtle sulk and anger intertwined with your sorrow. That is the message I got, I hope that was what you wanted to convey. Overall, the participation here have been very competitive and awarding the best ws not very easy. Hope to see more of you in the next competition. Thank You!
