Poetry Contest

Write a poem about another DUP user.
The idea for this competition came to me when i found out i was being slated by another user this morning.

Have you got something you would love to say to another DU user? Maybe you love them? Maybe you hate them? Maybe you just appreciate their writing? Maybe they have been a good friend to you?

Here's your chance to say it. Write your feelings WITHOUT mentioning the name of the person it is directed to. The point of this competition is to communicate your feelings anonymously.

RULES

1. Use whatever language you feel fit, but try not to swear just for swearing's sake.

2.The name of the person the poem is directed to IS NOT ALLOWED. These words are anonymous. Any poems containing the user name it is directed to will be disqualified from the competition.

3. Collabs are allowed.

4. You have two weeks.

Good luck!

Dedicated to you

A silent hello
A raucous laugh
A soft heart
A brave face
You are there
When you need to
And when you are needed
Sometimes you brush everything away
As if they do not matter anyway
When it does matter though
You just stand your
Ground and
Fight.
I am
Proud
To know
You!

What You Are Inside Of  I

I see
your freeze frame
this picture's driving me insane
theres only part of you
that's showing
with half a name
I long to know you
invent new colour , alien hues
turn all the bad , golden
enable breathing on the moon .

Imagine floatation
we're absent
from rotation .

Orchestral notes are pitching high
we are like Kestrel's
in new skies
we could kiss Neptune
or Jupiter's eye
I am the octagon
but no sides lie
I roll and rock too
I've lived a lot of life
so I need to know you
before I go and die .

Take me away
to where new suns
light up your face
with an amethyst haze
that does eradicate
gone days  .

The cool of ruby
and all red  , is truly too me
the jewels that you have bled
and the food
you do feed too me
the words that I have read
walk around inside my head
sometimes they run instead
because of your athletic legs

if I could I'd replace
the dead stars in the sky
if it did so place
what you are
inside of  I  .

ABOUT ANOTHER DUP MEMBER

You are an angel in disguise

With a kind word for all

Able to criticize

Without making them cry

You are the reason I am still there

The community spirit is alive

The poetry thrives and gets better as time passes by

For nothing is so simple that you do not have to do it everyday

As we make our baby steps

We look at other poetry

Thinking we will never become

Such a capable writer as you are

With patience and diplomacy

To resolve any differences

That sometimes crop up

Between the best of colleagues

You will have to guess who this person is

Because I cannot go into more detail

But to her the prize I give

BEST COLLEGUE IN DUP!!!!!

The Attention Of (The Joking) You

I see you , you're so
pretty , yippee
I adore
the floor you walk
and , all you breathe ,
can I be a bottle or cork
in , your winery
the plate , the cup or saucer
rocking in your crockery ,
or a silver spoon or fork you ,
polish 'til it's so shiny ,
to laugh , to just say talk to
would do for me .

I think of you
with you're , profile , smile
you've never known me
but I've loved you , a long while ,
even your name , it throws me
to the floor in a pile ,
infatuation , racing
per hour , for miles .

If I could just say
deflate my , lungs to you
then maybe I could make it ,
like a dream come true .

You're like a solar panel
full of energy ,
my baby , my sunflower
a radiation of heat ,
to someone , you belong
so , shame on me
I know that this is wrong
but hey , a guy can dream .

I see you smiling
sideways ,
I adore the floor
you walk on ,
I've prayed
for ways to talk and
get noticed by you ,

Second dimension>Third dimension

The two dimensional,the programmed nerves
of hardware
where
your metalloids
marked the
skeptic spots
much more than
the third dimension could
envy it,
The glaciated sentiments you
stirred like the
hot springs as the
distilled dagger
draped with the
dew drops of the red
current,
I'd see
through the pores of
your sentences
from the tenses of the past
The bitter taste
of betrayal we tast'd,
but you're not the
typical finicky thermometer
shooting aloud the
emotional mercury and
bowling the blues,
That what
grated my locked gates.

"The Distant Muse"
by:  Eric L. Boddie

Well now how are you today
I'm just hoping I can send a smile your way
Because that pretty face should never show a frown
Unless it's some good Loving going down
And make no mistake
Goodest = ate
And I hope you won't think I'm a jerk
But you make it so hard not to flirt
Because I see so much Beauty in your eyes
And your mind is brighter than the clear skys
And your heart just seems so very sincere
So I'm sure an Angel's voice is what I would hear
If our physical paths ever crossed
I know I would probably be lost
In such a vision that has no flaw
Perfectly Beautiful By His Law
And that's the Greatest Law for any to pursue
And it seems that His Grace & Glory surely did find you...

- Empress of the East -

Empress of the East I call you, a poetess so bright,
That I thought I’d glimpsed the sun, within its’ light.
You opened my eyes to the beauty that was there,
Within your soul, which no one else had ever seen!
And I bowed, before the light within every word…
We whispered together, across continents so vast!
Your words, so soft, like fingers caressing my hair,
And though your love was for one other to gleam…
Part of me wished I was your love; was it absurd?
For we are friends, each with her own crazy past!
But your poetry sang to me, and I glimpsed a soul,
So wonderful, so rare, that I was moved to tears…
For I am a silly girl, easily infatuated by the beauty:
Within a heart that opened itself up to me so well!
Love for others can sometimes be beyond control,
Even across oceans, despite so many inner fears…
And so in my selfless devotion to others I can see:
How it was you touched my heart to make it swell.
Oh my friend, fear not for friends we shall ever be!
But part of me will always long for your company.

More of you

You are desired
in many ways
Desired by many
In every way
You are poet
You are writer
You are noble
Sometimes very good
At being bad
You are charming
You are disarming
You are nimbus
Lights among clouds
Shelter from the storm
You are the storm
You traverse the sky
For love
Feet on the ground for
Your belief!

Middle earth   (In collaboration with grace )

So here I sit
again and face
a flat screen that's lit
veins pulse with every pace
I have to admit
you drive me insane
waiting for the your written
words to take place
all birds they do race
high up in the sky
your name they do trace
sometimes I join their flight
as you take me away
all red and golden times
for us do await

The golden imaginings of an entwining
of souls, needful in their mind
a reaching to a middle world
where desires transcend flesh
where wraiths meet and curl
together in understanding
touching feeling shifting in their figures
speaking with words of mystery
These within the world beyond
this screen
My fingers on keyboard
tapping without rhythm
and spell your name

The sky is in flames
alight with two names
drifting along to meet
real not just in my dreams
past electricity
I have to , I need to see
to capture all you breathe
the path that winds to thee .

The middle Earth where you and me
will coalesce in one entity
where wordless conversations
spoken through entwining touches
shared through deep drawn kisses
of the mind
translates to expressions
of shared needs and wants
or what dreams may come .

A matrix shows the mind that speaks
the movement interferes
touches the codes of music
a symphony to nature sings
arms on arms, kisses exchanged
explosions of variants
in cool features die
its goodbye once more
my palms against the screen
as my computer says
reboot.

It's power down
to an offline
the static holds for a short while
computer cold
in silence of files
the binary codes
are in for the night
shiny diodes unlit
till next time
I long to hold you
in my real life ,
naked and bold
inside you making gold
your flower unfolds ,
in all of sunlight .

- A Graceful Spirit -

When I was sad, your words gave me strength…
Helping to steel me, so that I might face the dawn.
So much kindness to show, at such great length…
And your words are sincere, not simply to fawn!
Your spirit is graceful, and so apt is that phrase…
For the compassionate soul, I have come to see.
This dedication is not idle; it is the noblest praise,
And I am happy to let such verse run wildly free.
So many people love you, and I can see it well…
The best reason is, because you are there for us.
I can imagine your voice, ringing clear as a bell…
Helping others selflessly, and showing your trust!
I could not help but commit to rhyme this poetry,
When I thought, about all the times we did talk…
This is for you: lady of refinement, and of dignity.
Your spirit is like a beacon, wherever you walk!
Queenly in majesty, and in bearing nigh angelic…
All this: I can sense of you, and it is such power,
To touch the hearts of others deeply and: quick!
I am happy to call you friend, unto the final hour.

Roses are red violets are blue I suck at poetry show me your tits

It's almost unbelievable.
like Forest Gump on Valium
being a medium for some
huge chip that sits on the shoulder
of a spoiled three year old
mammy's boy.

and i wonder.

To what end do you write.
what corrupted your soul
and keeps you awake at night.

How many green cherry's have you stole
from gardens you had no right to enter.
do you prowl the sidewalk, masked
and armed with chloroform on a rag.

or are you simply delusional.
caught in a great web of fantasy.
a star. born the master.
an icon. a symbol of strength.

were you constantly scolded.
used,abused,spat on, shat on
and so molded into what now
sits watching the screen today

either way

I fear for the people
the good people that surround you
oblivious of the real you
while you tick tock tick tock

boom!

Colours

You stand like a goddess
Silhouetted against the blazing
Setting sun
Your white diaphanous robe
Floating behind you
Blown by the wind
Your hair flowing to your waists
Shifting in the wind
Like ebony curtains

You stand tall like a warrior prince
A shifting shadow in the dusk
Against the darkening sky
Your sword sheathed by your side
Your shoulder, wide
Your eyes fixed at the distant
Far horizon
Where your kingdom once was
Now laying in dolorous ruins

You are the priestess
You are the seeking prince
The soothsayer the seeker
The traveler and the destination
The lyrics and the song
You are the one and many
A single angel and legion
A best friend and a stranger
You are Gemini and Solitude
