As a long term fan of WARDRUNA who are a group of musicians lead by front man Einar kvit ravn Selvik who is from the island where I live !
I wanted to introduce their new magnificently intense new single, yes they sing in old Norse, far below is the translation

Dear Wardruna family,
Amidst our song-writing hibernation, we are excited to offer a taste of our next album with the single release and music video for the song Hertan. The song can be found on all digital streaming platforms here.
“Hertan” is the proto-Scandinavian word for “heart” and that is exactly what we explore in this in this song and film. The duality of the heart with the rhythm, flow and pulse we can see, hear, and feel in nature and in all forms of life – and the more abstract idea of the heart, The rudder on the ship of emotions, our decisions, and our true desires.
Once again, we teamed up with Finnish director and photographer Tuukka Koski for the video production of Hertan. Koski has previously directed Raido, Voluspá, and Grá. This time, the production mainly took place during some freezing nights in northern Finland at the island of Hailouto.
Einar comments: "It is always a true pleasure to create art with Tuukka and his colleagues at Breakfast Helsinki! His experience and eye for detail as well as the ability to always conjure up next-level material, is very inspiring to be part of. Three days, three locations, no sleep but a lot of heart. This is how it went down. Hope you will enjoy the result!"

A Vow From Hertan
As the silence slices abruptly,
The drum of mortality strikes.
Through agony, I’ve persevered to understanding.
The negativity from darkness loses its clasp,
I linger, starved from the light.
Emotion swallows my mind,
Finally, with purpose I rise.
Animalistic vigor,
Uncanny spite,
Each thump and thrash,
Only to fortify my life.
I am a one-winged phoenix.
I am a fangless wolf.
But this is a vow to continue to struggle,
To constantly persist,
As the resilient heart will always cling to life.
The drum of mortality strikes.

As the world grows dim,
And my realm spreads grim,
I could bleed out.
I could see outside my mind.
Through the will of a mortal, a theme of corporeal doom.
I waste away in the dark and the gloom,
Afraid of the light of the change needed soon.
But I will glow with the light of a glacier in the sun.
Persistent in glory, though fading yet some.
Mind over matter.
The battle for wits
I climb up the ladder for the glory of it.
I train my soul for the blood and the gore,
Of beating my mind in title and score.
A break in the woods ahead.
The light approaches.
My training please carry
My soul into the soot of dread.
So I may come out alive in the end.
O!
The light approaches.
And my realm spreads grim,
