Why Africa?
Sudan
When Sudan is faced with sunrise
Flies swarm; landing on distended bellies
The dust swirls wickedly
Children who have never had a chance at life
Accept a death of poverty and misery
When Sudan is burned with sunshine
Canvas counts as walls like blackened water
counts as nutrition
Babies fall silent
as the breast they suckle dries to nothing
A cracked nipple and air
Dripping blood tainted in HIV
When Sudan is exposed to camera lens
Your hand reaches into your popcorn
You mutter to yourself
"Not this shit again."
You change the channel.

My poem isn't about "Why Africa' It's more about, what happens in Africa.
Child
My African Child
So young in heart
He cried for milk
So poor and helpless
Mama weeps in pain
His eyes so red
A week he cried
A month ago,
To the world he came
Mama so young
Papa has run
Under the bridge
They lay their heads
In storm and rain
They search for food
Through man and sex
Mama fed him well
The days went by
Mama health decreased
Only five months old
Mama said goodbye
In rain and cold
He cried so loud
In sun and heat
He wept and wept
Three days gone by
Since mama left
And now he sleeps
To meet with mama
Child
My African Child

-the hangover of the globe.
I don't know much about correctness.
Say what you see
and then duck the blows.
They should stop fucking
in the front bum,
that's for sure.
Thin the population out a little.
That's always the problem:
People per square meter.
Why would you reproduce...
Create small versions of yourself
that you supposedly love
so they can see your misery.
I'm sorry, but it's fucking mental.
I am not attacking anyone,
and I'm sure there are many more
problems such as climate,
but I generally think
some things would improve
if they just stopped
fucking in the front bum.

Being so close to wicked Europeans to the north
Serving as the bridge to their oil
The sun always hammering down so mercilessly
How the heart wishes it's rays could be harnessed
To create a flourishing utopia
