The Simple Life

Thank you again to each entrant who took the time to study and honor Berry with a tributary piece. As you know, judging can be quite tough in competitions like this, which is why we have a particular scale to guide us in regards to essence, content, form, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and, lastly, adherence to guidelines.  When neck-to-neck with another entrant one simple mistake can knock you out of placement.  Each was judged on a scale between 1-5, with 5 being the highest possible score, 1 the lowest.

That being said, congratulations to the following winners of an incredibly tight competition!

First Place: Heaven_sent_Kathy

You nailed it in all respects: essence, formatting, inspiration .... It was pure Berry.

Second Place: Josh

Yours was likewise an excellent entry, but we felt that Kathy had the ever so slightest of edge in regards to Berry's formatting style.

Third Place: eswaller

An entry that was extremely delightful with a KILLER ending. Capitalization beginning every line and stanzas created some hiccups with the flow.

Oh my gosh, I've been away a while and was looking around for a link to vote on a poet for a future classic comp and I didn't know till now... I'm that fish with it's mouth open.

Thank you, thank you JohnnyBlaze for your words, and for you and Ahavati giving me first in this comp.  Oh so many lovely entries besides, and I must absolutely congratulate Elena is it? and Josh, for placing.  Wasn't it wonderful, doing tributes to Mr Berry.  I'm so glad I got to learn much more about him in this challenge.
