Dear God
Dear God
Here I am saying to my self will he forgive me again?
Another session on my knees saying please forgive my sin
Here I am saying dear god do I have a soul?
Why can’t I be your beautiful servant.
So many regrets so many mistakes
What kind of  entity can accept someone like me
Are you up there? Did you finally realize im a fallin sheep gone astray?
Dear God
Please help me I am so broken.
You made me so  beautiful and rare at life’s starting line, what have I done to your  beautiful child?
The scars, the blood, the chemicals, sin after sin after sin.
Dear God
I bow my head to you and say is there room up there for me?
Can this rugged girl be saved?
Dear God
I’ve thought so much of what your plan might be for me
I’ve thought so much with no avail
Dear God
Lead me in the path you have destined  for me
I have no idea where I may be going
I am so scared
Dear God
Please come with me

Oh Adonai
My lord who I worship
Who I follow
Whose messages
Are all around
For us to interpret

Oh Adonai
Who is adored by all
But disgusted by most
Yet still through their disgust
In their ways do they trust
For what? For it is their way
And not somebody else

Oh Adonai
Who raised us all in your arms
Who gave us a destiny
That we may have a choice
To listen
To follow
And in our own paths grow

Oh Adonai
Mother of the earth
And all who dwells here
Unknowing teachers
Healers and helpers
Physical manerfestation
A smile upon countless faces
We are the gods
For we are real
We have been touched
And other hearts we have
Touched

(Shucks I'm sorry I know this is abit more then 200 words but it felt right to write )

I've Only Been Faithful To You

Can’t say I’ve been faithful to anyone

but

I’ve been faithful to you

To your loving touch

Your warm caresses

Your soft sweet kisses

Your whispered words

I’ve only been faithful to your heart

so strong, so caring

so loving, so pure

so good, so cherished

I’ve only been faithful to your body

Made for me

To be use by me

To bring pleasure

To resurrect me

To renew me

I’ve only been faithful to your Saving Grace

Your words

Your touch

Your body

Your love sweet Spirit

is my only Saving Grace.

I reach out for you
in the wake of night
drenched in sweat
calling out ...for you
My gentle Creator
Lover of my soul
I cry out for you
To touch the heart of me
when I am broken
touch the heart of me
when I am weary
touch the heart of me
when I am shattered mind
scattered I am out stretched
prostrate upon the ground
Calling you my gentle creator
Please.. Hear.. My Cry

Air

The Angel has my wings,
falling from the sky,
I die.

But as quick as day
turns into night,
I live.

Heaven is beautiful
but Hell,
conquers me.

I am limitless
like clouds,
sheltering birds.

Not that I have an entry, but it doesn't seem particularly fair to people wanting to come into the competition from here on out until closing time, considering the closing date isn't until tomorrow. The considerate thing to do would have been to allow entries up until that time, before awarding the winner you already had in mind with the award.

Indie...I do not want to postpone this past Monday
so I do not need another week
just a few days
This is not personal....I believe that the contests should only be one week long.  People take too long and a variety of contests is better than one which goes on forever.  As for who will win
I was honest....I will now know it is not fair to be honest...just let themselves believe that they have a chance....
You know every person here has written such excellent poetry
that they ALL deserve an award.......
No good deed goes unpunished

I've run a few comps and sometimes there is a clear winner, and yet a last minute entry could win, that's how it works sometimes. Even if no one from the remaining entries win after I've developed a favourite, I enjoy when peoples submissions and am honoured that they've chosen to enter my comp. It's not about if they win or not, its about giving them a place to share their poetry, and comps for me, act as a prompt to try new things, so I think its safe to assume that other people get inspired too by comp ideas. I don't enter comps to win, I enter comps because I've been inspired to write something or share something which I believe would fit the topic, and because it is a bit of a thrill of what it... Competitions are by their nature unfair because there can only be one winner, and there are often many wonderful entries, and it comes down to our personal opinion as a judge.

If I've been inspired by a comp idea, then found out the comp has closed before closing time, I might not run with that inspiration, because the excitement of the idea and entering a comp has been taken away.

I understand where you are coming from. But I will agree to disagree on this.

You have written a very good argument.....and it explains where you are coming from....It is good when the person who disagrees with you is so clear...
Open to whatever....

All I need-
each day I wake-
Is to know that love can conquer hate.
To know that people still have hope-
To know that knowledge is more than a joke.
All I need to be restored-
Is to forget the hate, I saw before
Open my eyes to the sky once more
and leave negativity-
at the door..
