Hurts to face what you helped bring about by promoting Trump, isn't it? Where's the peace now?

To the best of my knowledge, there are at present no US-supplied Zionist rockets and bombs falling on Gaza and killing 60,000 Palestinians, including 20,000 children. That's good enough for me.

That's at least a step in the right direction away from the situation in the Ukraine escalating into a full-scale nuclear war. That's good enough for me, too.

If you want a better class of politician in the US, it may be a good idea to get off your useless arse and get involved in the struggle in a practical fashion instead of copy-and-pasting party-political bollocks on a poetry website.

Only a suggestion, but perhaps if you could post within a ratio: 1 in 5 or something like that would keep the thread from being perceived as political. again, just a suggestion

I hear what you're saying and feel you are trying to help. Much appreciated.

The Grand Egyptian Museum will officially open on July 3, 2025

After delays since 2023, with celebrations lasting several days to allow more visitors to experience the event. Located near the Giza Pyramids, the museum spans 117 acres and features 100,000 artifacts, many displayed for the first time, along with glass façades offering stunning pyramid views.

The opening will include the unveiling of the Golden Hall, showcasing the treasures of King Tutankhamun, and will be attended by world leaders, emphasizing its global significance. With a total cost of $550 million, funded partly by a $300 million Japanese loan, the project involved leading firms like Heneghan Peng Architects for design, Atelier Brückner for display arrangements, and Orascom and Besix for construction.

Strategically located, the museum is just minutes away from key areas like Remaya Square and Zamalek, making it a landmark destination that blends history, culture, and modern design to celebrate Egypt’s ancient heritage.

" That's at least a step in the right direction away from the situation in the Ukraine escalating into a full-scale nuclear war. That's good enough for me, too. "

The reason Pukin invaded Ukraine was to steal Ukraine's wheat growing lands
If Ukraine had kept the nuclear bomb Puking would've invaded somewhere else
perhaps Afghanistan, again.

trumpy will attempt to give away Ukrainian lands to please his invading pal Pukin.
trumpy is a rapist.
Pukin is a murderous rapist.
Normal people stating an opinion of these two beasts hardly constitutes politics

My useless arse is seeing post after post after post in the agricultural community social media channels of massive issues impacting U.S. farmers and the U.S. agriculture economy from Trump's DOGE efforts, tariff wars and the USAID shutdown.

*Cotton and grain growers are losing contracts to long-time Canadian buyers because, even with the tariff pause, Canadian buyers don't trust the stability of U.S. export commerce with Trump in office. Plus, Canadians are just flat-out pissed and avoiding U.S. made/produced goods, including farm products.

https://www.cbc.ca/.../as-more-people-buy-canadian-these...

* Chuck Grassley, of all people, is pleading with Trump to exempt potash from any Canadian tariffs because U.S. potash (a major fertilizer in agriculture) mainly comes from Canada. Impending tariffs will shoot farmers' fertilizer prices sky-high.

* Corn and soybean farmers are upset because Trump cancelled all of Biden's Climate Smart grants that were supposed to help them offset their adoption of soil health improving new practices like no-till and cover cropping.

https://www.bloomberg.com/.../soy-farmers-urge-trump-to...

* USAID's cancellation cuts $2 billion straight out of U.S. farmer's pockets from the Food for Peace program which purchased rice, wheat, corn and soy from U.S. farmers and distributed them to hungry nations. In some states and for some crops, USAID was their primary buyer.

* USDA NRCS is cancelling conservation contracts and leaving farmers holding the bag. These are things like fence improvements and upgraded water lines that boost farmer efficiency while also conserving the environment. Plus, the way they work is the farmer has to do the work first, then once they are done, the NRCS reimburses them. So now farmers that have spent the money to do the work are being told the NRCS won't honor their contracts.

* California farmers are PISSED because his "turn on the taps" PR move did nothing to combat California wildfires and instead wasted 2 BILLION gallons of water being held in reservoirs for summer irrigation.

SOURCES:
https://www.npr.org/.../farmers-are-worried-after-trump...
https://abc30.com/.../central-california.../15862080/

* U.S. crop farmers are freaked out over the trade wars since Canada, China and Mexico represent half - let me repeat that again, HALF, of all U.S. agricultural exports!

SOURCES:
https://www.wdam.com/.../trump-tariffs-could-impact.../
https://www.spglobal.com/.../020625-us-farmers-could...

* Per Trump's freeze on financial contracts, the USDA is withholding funds for the Organic Market Development Grant program and the Transition to Organic Partnership Program, which typically go directly to organic farmers or to non-profits supporting organic farmers.

SOURCE:
https://www.eenews.net/.../usda-pauses-2-organic.../

* The shutdown of USAID has been trickling down through multiple ag-focused agencies, including the Soybean Innovation Labs, which were hosted at land-grant universities across the U.S.. These research labs focused on developing new genetics and growing practices in soybeans critical to U.S. and international growers. They had to close the entire program, laying off 30 scientists and researchers in 19 labs across 17 states.

SOURCES:
https://www.linkedin.com/.../peter-goldsmith-66096495...
https://www.linkedin.com/.../nathanfaleide_acting-on...

* K State University lost up to $50 million that was pledged through a USAID Program over the next five years to advance research in “sustainable intensification,” an approach focused on increasing crop yields without expanding agricultural land use, expected to directly benefit Kansas (and U.S.) farmers.

SOURCE:
https://thisistopeka.com/.../k-state-losses-50-million.../

* China's retaliatory tariffs (although not yet on crops, we shall see) are expected to have a major impact on U.S. ag machinery manufacturers, who were already struggling and have had massive lay-offs over the last 12 months. China imported almost $800 million of U.S.-manufactured ag machinery in 2020.

And it goes on and on and on with new, major issues coming to light on a near-hourly basis. My heart hurts for U.S. farmers and U.S. farm communities, large and small, that are needlessly and thoughtlessly being impacted by this.

But hey, on the bright side, Trump banned those infuriating paper straws! "Back to Plastic!"

Donald Trump drinking-straws

EVILDIRTYSTINKINGFASCISTBASTARDNAZI DONALD TRUMP TODAY SIGNED AN EXECUTIVE ORDER THAT WILL ALLOW THE FEDERAL PURCHASE OF PLASTIC STRAWS.

'It's a ridiculous situation,' said the Donald, waving a paper drinking-straw. 'These things are shite. They don't work and occasionally explode. The use of plastic ones won't affect the Shark too much as it munches its way through the ocean.'

Bleeding heart liberals, meanwhile, were outraged at this decision:

'It's the end of civilisation!', wailed one, running around in circles and waving her arms in the air.

'Donald Trump is a wicked, wicked man,' lamented another, large tears rolling down his cheeks and dripping into his museli. 'Whatever madbastard thing will he do next?'

Meanwhile, in other news, US-supplied Israeli bombs and rockets are no longer killing Palestinian men, women and children in their tens of thousands, but we don't like to talk about that and generally bury any mention of it on page 96 where nobody will see it.
