Hidden in the Glance
I see it in the eyes;
I don't know if it's true.
Mustn't be too dumb—
I'm sure it could be you.
I've seen the glances, seen the smiles,
The quiet dance that our symphony makes.
There's something, something elusive yet divine,
A spark in our midst that takes control and blooms—
The same lunar hearts
That have powered the love of many, since time's own dawn.
I don't know if it's true.
Mustn't be too dumb—
I'm sure it could be you.
I've seen the glances, seen the smiles,
The quiet dance that our symphony makes.
There's something, something elusive yet divine,
A spark in our midst that takes control and blooms—
The same lunar hearts
That have powered the love of many, since time's own dawn.

Mother Natures Last Walk
Walking in the soft white
With no direction
All I know is my heart is cold
The air freezes with every exhale
Creating intriguing flakes that drift
What have you done?
Some mistakes cannot be repaired
I gave you a home
Nurtured you
Now
I will walk the path to my end
What can a mother do to show her love?
I gave you me
Once the last bloom on the tree of life blooms
Remember how I once was.
Remember the soft summer nights.
When the rose and the orchids perfumed the air
Remember the sweet fruits and vegetables
Created for you, my love
It is time
For me to go into obscurity.
Remember the rain and the rainbows (Whispered)
With no direction
All I know is my heart is cold
The air freezes with every exhale
Creating intriguing flakes that drift
What have you done?
Some mistakes cannot be repaired
I gave you a home
Nurtured you

Pencilled journey
war is innate to humans
in grief struck times
we leave our battered fields
twenty three years ago
these white fumes
and blood shot eyes
I ignored every warning
while brooding looms are spinning
into reddening festering formations
my clenched grip illuminates
ink blotted figures escape
today
I nailed each carcass
watched it speak
shouting tarnished tales
cloaked blessed obsessed
plagued I stand amidst
humanity
dead among the living
only I was allowed this transition
tell me who owns the wind
burn not these bridges
let the echo chambers
quiver while I closed the lid
he lay within the carcass
I listened to each embryo
frequencies now fading
into violent violence
cascading from stagnant
waters we willed the steam

Games People Play
People don't play games, games play people
Whatever game you're playing is the game you're playing with yourself.

Earplugs
Times like these are dangerous
darkness dimming sun song
No birth of notes splashing
against our ears
before the poem digs up the well
of our heart
I don't wish for silence
but a roar from the shadow
howling for the symphony
the unity
of a thousand instruments
orchestrated as one
shattering the disease
spreading like olive oil
over the flowers
who's petaled eyes
are glazing over in disbelief
I will not shut my mouth
to appease your sensitivities
I speak out because, Sisterhood
bodily autonomy should not be dictated
by any government
I speak out because, Caring
even though birthright citizenship
laws do not apply to me
I speak out because, Empathy
the persecution of being true
to one's LGBTQ+ self
I speak out because, Deportation
seizing children
is cruel beyond measure
I speak out because, my Heart
breaks at the plight
of Ukrainian and Palestinians
over oceans of miles
separating us
I speak out because, Poetry
demands my voice
I speak out because, Love
will not allow my silence
Earplugs are cheap
down at the drugstore
I'll happily buy you a pair
if hearing the truth
hurts too much

against our ears

falling home
I saw her today
so quiet
& soft
a somber ghost
of her former self
the pine trees
no longer whisper
& cold, black fingers
hold up a heavy
December sky
her heart lies fallow
born of Winter's burden
the blood pools like sap
in her limbs
& in her chest
& I see her die
her little deaths
knowing
the sun will rise again
without her
for her roots too
are infinite

memoire, she looked over my shoulders today and finally smiled
Gilded ram born in 1933
she looks so small
in that huge room
unfurnished
unsolicited
I came into her life
so often silently
I watched her
by the lampshade
how she would unlit
when apple scented cake
was served
in one corner
of her mouth
some cinnamon glows
I hear our forks scrape
over pastel blue
ceramic plates
each bit is sliced
perfectly
though in lilting
moments
something of ours awakes
watering her favored plants
rearranging flowers
her mother used
to sing to them
Today I read
about mimicry
of flowers
and thought
how once I caught
a laughing flower
I was determined
to be there
that final day
sitting down upon
a cold white stool
her eldest daughter
translating
the only way
we speak is through our eyes
her hands are transparent
as I reach them
before I leave
I tell her I care
all unspoken
melts in her stare
It is as if she tells me
she knows
the more peace
I make
the more grief
the less phantom
escape
love
though at times
invisible
can still
remain
invincible
she looks so small
in that huge room
unfurnished
unsolicited

Shades of Magenta
I'm an Aquarius aquarium
This feeling never floats away
Happiness lives inside me
Every single day
It feels like schools of fish
Are swimming in my veins
Swells of tranquility
Become vibrant reality
Can you feel them flow
Do you even know
I've never felt like this before
I'm not fighting it anymore
You turn me
Shades of Magenta
Whenever I'm with ya
You turn me
Shades of Magenta
Because I love ya
When my heart beats it sends
Pulses of possibilities instead
It feels like schools of fish
Surging towards my head
You caused a system
Of hydroponic color
A method of love between
Myself and my lover
My DNA coils and twists
Lost codes the shape of a ladder
You busted through
Generic colors that didn't matter
It feels like schools of fish
Swimming around my ribs
Tickling me with their fins
Whenever I'm with ya
Do you even know
Can you see me glow
I can't ignore it anymore
I've never felt like this before
You turn me
Shades of Magenta
Because I love ya
You turn me
Shades of Magenta
Because I'm going to marry ya
This feeling never floats away
