This is such an iconic song. I don't usually pick the music video version, but this video enhances the meaning of the song. Mike Rutherford, who formed the band in the 80's while the band "Genesis" was on hiatus. I believe he is one of the founding members of, Genesis. Any how this song has powerful lyrics and an even more powerful message. The first line: "Every generation blames the one before." Truly sets the tone. You may shed a tear on this one, it will tug at your heartstrings. The use of a choir along with singer, Paul Carrack's phenomenal voice make it legendary. Enjoy..

What can I say about this song other than it's brilliantly written. The music sets the mood and the lyrics are masterfully executed. I posted this video because it has the lyrics included. Sting, wrote this song and it is a dark and moody piece. This was not a single this is a deep cut of the album. It also made an appearance in the movie "Copycat" which was a thriller about a serial killer. It played a part in the plot as it was evidence left by the killer at one of the scenes. This song speaks for it's self. Enjoy.
