To Accompany You

Josh said:A few years ago I was asked to "put my poetry on the wall" together with a group of artists with paintings, and textile hangings.
I wrote them out on a canvas using a felt-nibbed pen from the local Chinese shop.
I kept three to hang on the kitchen wall.

Here's a couple of them:
"To Accompany You" is on a 50cm x 60cm canvas, (rather apt in today's warring world);
it's also on DUP with audio:

Great idea for a forum-thread by the way, Ajay.
Cheers,
Josh.

The last couple of lines!!! 😍😍😍

Also, your print handwriting is magnificent!

This haiku is last bit of a haibun I wrote several weeks ago. So it may not make sense out of context, but here it is anyway!

Pen: TWSBI Eco-T
Ink: sailor manyo haha

I really love that green ink.  I’ve been looking at a new fountain pen with a flex nib but I don’t know much about inks.

Hi, Luna💐

The interesting thing about that green ink is that it absolutely stinks of vanilla.
'Why is this?' I hear you exclaim.
Well, in 2015 when KWZ first began manufacturing inks they all smelled absolutely horrendous. A person would unscrew the bottle and recoil in horror as their nostrils were assailed by a hideous chemical stench. Following the inevitable bad press, KWZ added some sort of vanilla ingredient which makes any letters a person should write smell lovely. The smell endures in the words on the page for months, making them really good for love letters. 💌

Re inks in general: for some reason ink in the US is much more expensive than in the UK. It is actually more economic to purchase it from an English stationer and have it shipped over to you than it is to purchase from a US supplier. If you want any further information on the subject, ask DaisyGrace. She's the expert. 🙃

I'll now bid you a fond farewell and leave you with a link to some of the best green inks.

Much love,
Alex 💐

PS You'll have to post a poem written with your flex nib when you have it. I don't have any such nibs and would be interested to see the results and hear what you think of them.

Thank you Luna. I'd never written 'large-scale' before (or since) so I pencilled in the distance between each line first to make sure I wouldn't run out of space and that it would be reasonably centred. And I only had one chance at it to get it right - a bit nerv-wracking - I had ten to do and ten canvases - but was pleased with the result.

Thank you DaisyGrace. It was a bit of a challenge as a one-off, but worked out o.k in the end.
Here's the third one of the three, on a 30cm x 50cm canvas.
It's als on DUP with audio:

Thank you so much, Alex!  I’ll have to look into those as I finally pulled the plug and ordered the flex nib pen.  I’m so excited I can’t wait to write with it - I’ll be sure to post a sample!

Pen – Parker 45. Fine nib.
Ink – Rohrer & Klingner: Blu Mare.
Inspiration – The Scorpion🦂.

If you should happen to read this, A., I'm aware of the Mars/Pluto thingy, but you seem to me to be more of a Mars girl than anything to do with the Underworld. 🙃

Wow! That's really nice, ajay!

Mars is the traditional ruler of Scorpio along with Aries. As the Universe expanded and more planets were discovered beyond the naked eye, they were assigned to those signs who shared planetary rulers ( without upsetting the principles of astrology, of course ). Ancient astrologers knew there were more planets influencing our life on Earth then they were aware of.

For example, Uranus wasn't discovered until 1781, coincidental with the industrial revolution and the harnessing of electricity. These forward-thinking ideologies and inventions aligned with the astrological sign of Aquarius, who is imaginative, progressive, and scientific. Neptune wasn't discovered until 1846, heralding a time of metaphysics and the birth of psychoanalysis. It aligned with Pisces. Lastly, Pluto wasn't discovered until 1930, just prior to the atomic age, the rise of dictatorships, and the rebirth of underworld crime. It aligned with Scorpio. These assignments were deemed the new rulers, while the traditional rulers became sub rulers.

You most likely see Mars in me because my Natal Mars IS in Scorpio, my astrology sign, along with six other planets ( almost seven by a few minutes ), creating a double stellium in my natal sign. But in all fairness, I do have a dark side and am not afraid to dig as deep as it takes for the truth. Nor am I afraid of the truth, even if it proves me wrong. Especially if it proves me wrong. That's what keeps our ego in check.

Thank you again for the amazing poem. I'm honored!
