Outages During New Submission

During the last two weeks I've experienced difficulty with submissions and the site crashing for several hours. This tends to happen when I'm selecting themes, luckily I'd saved the work elsewhere but my confidence in the process is now somewhat reduced.
Is it a glitch or just heavy traffic I'd be grateful for your assessment, webmiz.

I thought I was the only one experiencing such a mishap, thank goodness you brought this repeated misfortunate to the Webmistress’ attention, and with much gratitude, please enjoy the remainder of your early afternoon, my poet…

Still happening. Last night 19:30 and this morning 09:00.
Tried various browsers connection timing out during poem submission.
Crashes when trying to add themes.
Site then unavailable for over an hour on each occasion.

I haven't. Have you sent the Webmiss a PM about it?

She always reads a new suggestions thread.
I suspect she'll be working tirelessly to fix it this weekend.

Just back online after two hour outage.
Same issue crashing when I'm trying to submit a poem.
Starting to wonder if it's connected with all the flashing adverts.
Only happening at DUP.

Yes! I just reported having the exact, identical same issue. I can log into the site fine and submit a first work for the day, but whenever I go to submit a second work if I am selecting my themes the site will glitch out and if I log out then I can't get back on unless I either use a VPN or do it on another device. This has been going on for like a month or so now, and when it happens it says the site is taking too long to load in my browser. I tried a second browser just to be safe, and that one did the same exact thing! Using a VPN is a pain too, since it's so slow that way and usually hangs when I go to submit an image to go with my writing. At least it appears that I am not the only one having these weird issues related to selecting themes and having the site hang though. Odd that it works just fine if I only submit one work, though! Only goes wacky if I submit a second. Once, I was even able to get back in after shutting down my PC and logging back in... but doing a plain old restart doesn't work. So... whatever this problem is, it's a bad one for sure. I had to log into another device just to send a report about this issue. Not fun, not fun at all! Hope this gets fixed soon, it's definitely a pin in the neck.

Almost exactly my experience, Kara.
The glitch definitely seems to manifest when selecting themes.

Yeah, and it seems to be an ongoing glitch too, sadly, since it happened to me again tonight. I ended up having to use my VPN to log back in again. Rather a pain in the neck, that! Glitches do seem to be going around lately too, Pinterest has for the past several days been having a really weird issue affecting people being unable to move their pins and arrange their boards, which makes it impossible to use Pinterest fully until they fix that. And over on the Skyrim nexus, they were having problems this morning similar to the glitch we've been experiencing here on Deep Underground Poetry, except that on the nexus it was much, much worse and there was NO way to go on that site at all. Not sure if they've got it sorted or not on the nexus yet, but with that site you never can tell how long a glitch like that can last for before it gets fixed. Sometimes they get things up and running again quickly over there but other times it can go for a good week before they squish the glitch and fix the issue or issues caused by it. I'll definitely be a whole lot happier once all my favorite sites get their glitches fixed so we can get back into the full swing of things properly once again! Especially DUP and Pinterest, they're like my two favorite sites and the ones I tend to frequent and make use of the most. Keeping my fingers crossed that all shall be well soon! *Smiles* :)

I posted about this in my poems section a week ago and it is still going on.  I wish it would get fixed. Been saving my poems and PMs in my messaging app before pressing submit and send, but it is still very frustrating and delays messages that might have time importance.

This has been happening to me for months. It's happened three times today alone. Once while submitting a new poem and the other two times, just losing a secure connection to the server.

I am very disappointed and surprised this is still happening.
I was a victim again this morning, unable to log on after attempting to post poetry.
Nothing worked to restore the connection for almost two hours
It's a real shame that the site is undermined in this way and while its credibility continues to be compromised the confidence of users is bound to dwindle.

When it happens, have you tried clearing your history before you attempt to log in again?
