Melodic Movement
As my heart rumbles
To the raging bass
My ears are humbled
To the music’s grace
Light, dust and smoke
Unveil my lair
Where the ground beats
My feet bare
I fall into rhythm
My view a haze
The dance of the hidden
The creatures of blaze
Eyes are closed
Yet my vision is here
Only for this beat
Do my dreams become clear
I fall in love
With the air around
The people; the aromas
The gooseprickling sound
Take me.
Almighty tune
For I am your puppet,
For this is your room
I close my eyes
And feel your call
The hair on my skin
Standing up tall
My feet move
Without conscious demand
My mind it soothes
To your beat’s command
Tonight, of all nights
I make a special request
For the music to take me
To not let me rest
For tonight, I am yours
Until dawn shines our way
For the breaking of laws
I may even stay
To the raging bass
My ears are humbled
To the music’s grace
Light, dust and smoke
Unveil my lair
Where the ground beats
My feet bare
I fall into rhythm
My view a haze
The dance of the hidden
The creatures of blaze
Eyes are closed
Yet my vision is here
Only for this beat
Do my dreams become clear
I fall in love
With the air around

when I am gone
when i am gone,
the stars will continue
to shine.
when i am gone,
the spring will return
and the robins will
find their way home.
when i am gone,
couples will still make
love to each other.
when i am gone,
streetlights will still
guide the way
through the darkness.
when i am gone,
bottles of wine will
continue aging
to perfection.
when i am gone,
I will be gone,
that's it.
...so simple,
...so pure,
...so elegant.
life should be
lived as such.

Sacrifice
“We sacrificed everything for you, Andrew, the private education we struggled to afford, then off to University carrying our love and hopes for your future.
Then you got into drugs. All our hopes for you destroyed.”
I turned away, bitter tears flowing.
The man put the lid back over him.

Deeper than a tattoo
The closeness shared between us always sparked conversations bout getting tatted
We each had own assortment of tattoos already but we wanted matching
I was a friend to you but I was something more to you
Our ideas became tainted with future plans & I wasn’t prepared for it
I decided not & you decided to go & surprise me with my name
I didnt see the love in your actions & you made it worse
A name cemented on you reminds us of a time where we were most vulnerable but spent the longest time
(You inked your pain)

Contentment
Sometimes it just disappears
As fast as it came
Melancholy days with no sun rays
Changing seasons given as reasons
Knowing that only self help
will work for me
It's been like this for years
But it'll be ok again
As nobody is to blame

Changing seasons given as reasons
Knowing that only self help
will work for me
It's been like this for years
But it'll be ok again
As nobody is to blame
