Can we have a theme hashtag from the web lady? It would be great to be able to theme tag our offerings as I think we are all posting to our personal poetry pages anyway

choking on whispers

it's within
whispers
where I live

numbed by wave
after palpable wave
of tortured quietude
bashing against shores
of pointed ignorance

my own stupidity
how I
rage and rage

so blind to pondered inevitably
deaf to days louder
than any argument
or accusations of fault
of who's to blame

only pregnant silence

and knowledge that the sea
needn't know
how it's full
of such selfless beauty

blaming the death
of what's possible
on hands of time,
circumstance
willingness
or truths
turned to fools gold

to be so hardened
in bold

like burning
sacred flesh
only to impress
the lonely night
of all that rings hollow

leaving a heart
in embers, ashy
unrecognizably singed
lungs struggling
of forgotten soot

choking on more
than just forsaken fire

Beware Of The Moon (Short Production)

Human flesh claws beware
Where wicked grooms its prey, from the bottom of the stairs
The moon rises to drink of its venom's thirst
Darkness is its lair's curse
Beware of the moon
The fate of captivity seals your doom

(NoPoo 186) An Overture of Splendour

I want you to stay
Taking the chance to act
In my mind's eye
Your beauty is all
Are you ready for my love

The night is young
Music is playing its seductive sounds
The visual stimulation of you
Ignites the fires inside
Dont fear the carnal whispers

Drinks flow as inhibitions fade
Its a familiar dance
Bodies teasingly close
Feeling the rising heat
Between the friction of movement

Its a prelude to the symphony
This is the miracle that surrounds us
Hearts taking a leap of faith
As we catch our star to the heavens
Feeling the supernova of loving

The Second Part Of My Journey Through God’s Eyes

Just when I thought I was foot loose and fancy free
The same old power of persuasion keeps gently touching me
For once I willingly came out the pouring rain
Rested my sword to catch my breath from life’s stinging pain

Love letters felt with such beautiful ink stains
But you know God’s image they’re all the same
Their rules, their games
No causes, no blames

Roaming back in the jungle tenderly licking my soft fur
Animalistic roaring to hear my soft purrs
What’s a sweet kitty cat to do… mm allow the Tomcat to lick my carnal food
But first
I have to step back and evaluate my self-worth

A new beginning to embark has been blessed upon me tomorrow
Going for my Master’s Degree, whereas I have to rely on my brain to intellectually borrow
Letting go of summer embracing the beauty of fall
Engraving my desires, my wishes, my goals on life’s wall

As I kneel on my knees
Asking my Heavenly father to please
Relieve me of tempation that assuage my soul to degrade me
Give me hope as I move within this realm, we call life
Keep my head afloat as lessons to learn, do not cause me daily strife

Taking An Earthly Breather

Times are going to become hard for mankind, whereas, most are going to be begging to be placed out of their miseries. The elite will show their ugly head, and not by money but by power.

Those thirteen families who rule every sector of this world will take their right hand at the beast's political side.

I will be writing an upcoming piece on this and the war in the Middle East, how you can fight for a land, which is not even yours, in as much, when you are not even considered the original Jews.

I have been soliciting for my Straight Talk Live essays /Poems for consideration to Essence Magazine and other magazine publications.

I must thank a certain poet on DUP who has given this lioness that idea last year, much poetic love to you, always. In addition,  I’m close, one correspond thus far… I have been asked to change my format and submit a specific piece they are looking for…which I have complied, my fingers are crossed and toes

One thing my grann did teach me ‘never hold anything dear to you but your heartbeats, because everything else will always have the power to hurt you, control you, or fuck you, unquote.

And being home schooled was not as status quo as it sounds... it was hard work, and at times difficult to follow my stern grann's daily unorthodox teaching methods and between her seeing patients and leaving me unattended and cooped up in one of the back examination rooms doing, my lessons became daunting.

In addition, interchanging between French Creole and when she became impatient, some other language I didn't understand and a hard slap to my hand when I sassed her telling her she made no sense, that creed only made me humble to the world, yet, never ask questions just react with greater instincts.

It became frustrating, basically, I was teaching myself broken English until she had the common decency to get a ma'am from the village to tutor me.

Oh, those days seem as if they were yesterday... remembering back, I had to read, can you get this the Encyclopedia to her daily while she cooked. I made it to the Volume -V- about that time I was seventeen, and that was the taste of my earned salvation.

When my goddaughter does visit me, I make her read three pages out of the Britannia Encyclopedia, and not online. Great young minds are always impressionable by what the intellect read by books, not what their mind sees by sight (online teaching).

Just a little reminisce I am off today and drum roll...  I am officially done my Master’s Degree Program in Nursing. With joy, I turn in my thesis in person on Monday, and try to sell my text books on Ebay, or back to the student store I will get way less in vaule due to Covid-19, they are only recycling them.

Have a blessed Friday and a great weekend everyone

fledgling sure

raw materials
basic elemental makeup
omnipotent, instinctual and
the very origins of

where imagination
and a particular innateness
wistfully crisscross
into a graceful
burning hope—

a hope of fidelity
mythical entwined blood
masterful dominance
that spurs indulgent caring
fathomless deep
a love unlike love

eons rare
unification forged
of sweetly caressed sentences
their intertextuality
crafted in staunch driving need
palpably sharing of pure connectedness

the kind that erases
every single question
reanimating broken bones
miracle healing chasmic scars
allowing a cautious heart
fledgling surety

and a faithful chance
at
beginning.

(NoPoo 187) I Will Wait

I will still be waiting
When I dream of you
It’s a different world altogether
Everything is a sensual experience
Of scented candles and rose petals

I will still be waiting
Seeking th surrender of your soul
In a carnal night time invitation
Let the whispers  that secretly turn you on
Be the words of my seduction

I will still be waiting
Hoping to slip past the defences
It’s hard to get the balance right
Driven by the madness
Chipping away the pieces

I will still be waiting
When you finally admit I’m here
Just tune in to my wavelength
Find that what flows through me
Flows through you too

The trouble with beauty

close to the edge
can see the ocean far below
black foreboding

she sings
and I move closer

can taste the salt
may as well be sulphur

I think I’ll open book two in a day or two, I’ll keep book one running as long as I can.

my thinking is poets might be happy to contribute to Book two from the start, it’ll be handier to keep count

much thanks to Grace for providing a title for Book two

I miss Gabe. you are all beautiful people
