Downstreams
Water, we are
comprised of: heart,
lungs, bones. . .
watery skeletons
beneath fibrous sinew—
streams connecting rivers
of musclular viaducts
Air becomes droplets
we wade through daily—
deltas of weight, less
a lightness of being
But, sometimes we feel
our currents shift—
the turning of tides
within our selves
drift
with the flow, release
resistance, know
we belong—
this anchor of skin
a life(raft) of experience
floating home

So there was a glitch in this comp where that Ahavatis entry was not seen until just now, and after the fact. And, based on what I knew at the time Rhymes you placed first because Ahavatis entry wasn’t up for consideration under said glitch, had it been, Ahavati would of taken first place Rhymes, however it wasn’t visual at the time of awarding a trophy for what ever system malfunction was going on. So I thought it only right that I say right here in public that Ahavati placed first and you came in second sorry for the confusion. I hope you understand.

Congratulations to both Ahavati & RhymeOrReason!!! Excellent job!
Thank you for running the comp, Jackie! What a wonderful idea it was, here. I really enjoy the music and poetry combination.(an absolute fav!) I feel one already feeds off of the other and this was a comp that sparked my interest immediately, as I always have something playing when I'm writing!
So, 🙏 very much, again!
I really loved reading every entry, thank you for the inspiration to all....
Much love and respect,
🌹

Thank you for explaining, Jackie, I know you know it's not winning that matters to me, but supporting friends! While I do think Webmiss needs to be notified about the * Glitch * ( my name not appearing on the list of potential awardees ), I am not interested in receiving the trophy now that it's been awarded to a very deserving entrant.
Thank you for another wonderful comp! Looking forward to the next! xo

I absolutely agree supporting one another is most important Ava. I am sorry for the blunder that is mine🤪 I think I’m gonna give competitions a break for a minute but thanks 😊
Loves you Ava dearly ❤️

Well then, that felt like a kick in the guts tbh. Supporting friends is all well and good. I have learnt a lesson. Bias!!
I've decided to put a positive spin on it and take the trophy as it took me less than 10 mins to write mine😋.
I loved the idea, the words just gushed out. I had never heard the piece if music before and now when I listen I think of the story of the poem. Congrats to Ahavat. Xx

I believe in honesty and while it was a mistake on my behalf you should know I enjoyed your entry very much. I apologize sincerely Rhymes .
something like this has never happened in my competitions. Please know that I would never intentionally hurt yours or anyone’s feelings.
Your entry was wonderful
Ps.
I never ever ever pick a winner based on anything other than how the poem not the writer, made me feel. Bias is not in my blood I am a blind competition host.
