BW, nowhere does it say Trump ( and I certainly didn't imply it ) said this for 9 min. I think it's common sense that he didn't? But maybe I am wrong on that. . . It was looped for 9 min to give us an idea of just how long George Floyd said  "I Can't Breathe", for Nearly 9 Minutes. . .the very fact that I just had to explain that to you says so much. . .

And if you don't mind cutting the winks when you address me, I would appreciate it. It reminds me of the middle-aged white men down south who like to pat a woman's head and mansplain with a wink what she needs to understand. It's the main reason I typically ignore you.

Thank you.

The clip comes from a Trump rally in Colorado Springs on February 20, 2020, where he mocked the debate performances of Democratic presidential hopefuls (here) .

I know that. I researched and have now edited my comment to reflect such.  Thank you.

While it does NOT infer in anyway it is related to George Floyd, it is nonetheless mocking others, which is appalling and disgraceful.

Some are countering just to be countering.

And some are worried that abolishing law enforcement, defunding, killing and burning down cities must be counteracted with love. On both sides of this we need love.

Not traffic jams; not beaten officers with PTSD and low pay.

However, I've chosen to be honest, which is very difficult because the majority do not accept it.

Thank you.

So now you saw it said on the video title , you linked to , 9 minutes...

So you see I was not wrong...

And you linked it...

That says a lot about you observation...

Let alone not posting in your original post ,
...that it was a loop , is not being honest...

And if you have a problem with winking , that is *your* problem...

It honestly was not directed at you , but dealt with Trump

So , you have a problem ?

Grow up , Ahavati...

Focus on what I am intending , not what you
want to unkindly think of me...got it ?

Fair is Fair

Actually, no; I saw it earlier and simply forgot to edit my original post when I became distracted with Layla's question, then a barrage of other things.  I will thank you for bringing to my attention I had not done that.

BW I'm not going here with you. Your post implied that I literally believed Trump said that for nine minutes, thus you proceeded to correct and admonish me in regards to fact-checking.

No one believes Trump said it for nine min, not even his worst enemies. We're pretty intelligent regarding what a loop looks like, but thank you for mansplaining that as well. Forgive me if I have much more faith in common sense that I didn't feel I had to explain what it was. Perhaps that faith is misplaced; I don't know.

I'd rather not grow up if it's all the same to you; that's where all the problems live.  Keep me on the playground please.

Have a nice day.

MMMMhhhMMM...

Your use of the word "mansplaining" is just as insulting as Trump is regarding women...

The rest of your post , I accept...

However grow up...you are sounding like Trump , now...

Have a great day , yourself , truly meant...

We all need to see our faults , Trump included

D.C. mayor: "We pushed the army away from our city"

Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser emerged from a crowd of protesters in the newly-named "Black Lives Matter Plaza" on Saturday to address the demonstrators.

Bowser used part of her speech to admonish the use of federal law enforcement against protesters outside the White House earlier in the week. The Monday demonstration was described as peaceful, but officers began spraying tear gas and using flash bangs to clear the area before President Trump walked through to St. Johns Episcopal Church.

"If you're like me, on Monday you saw something you hoped you'd never see in the United States of America: Federal police moving on American people peacefully protesting in front of the people's house," Bowser said.

"If he can take over Washington D.C., he can come for any state and none of us will be safe," she said, appearing to refer to the president. "So today we pushed the army away from our city. Our soldiers should not be treated that way, should not be asked to move on American citizens."

"Today we say 'no.' In November we say 'next,'" Bowser concluded.

Amen to that.

White Privilege

is being able to wake up in America
and not fear losing one's life
because of their skin color—
that is my privilege

I thought I understood
because I was bullied by whites
for being an ignorant little bitch
who played with black kids
during recess in Mississippi

I thought I recognized
an acidic smell of racism
on the breath of British children
screaming, Yankee go home!
in England

I thought I swallowed
the copper taste of inequality
shoved down my throat
because of nationality in Mexico

I did not—and neither can you
if you aren't black in America;

but, you can learn problematic facts
which led to this eruption—
dispel ingrained ignorance
and fight the unjust reality

that is White Privilege
prevailing in this country

Blood Quantum

Blood Quantum
Despite my percentage
I'm classified White—
been so all my life

because I'm privileged
in a country where modern history
favors ivory pastels
of a monarchy
over the red-skinned origins
of its own country

I survived desegregation
in deep south Mississippi—
brutal fights
bathroom tiles splattered
with skin

—shards of teeth
floating as white discs
amid a bubbly pulse
circling a rusted drain

We can pity those impoverished—
donate to food banks;
but, until hunger cracks its whip
across our spine. . .
we won't know what it's like

Linking elbows side x side—
marching streets, demanding justice
won't make our skin Black
—we know that
we get it;

we will always be privileged Whites
despite the blood quantum
our Black husbands, wives
or even children comprise;

they will never be viewed
as privileged Whites—
but a half or fourth or sixteenth
—of something else

Yet, we'll continue to resist inequality
in this broken dream of America—
this fucked up patriarchy
of privileged Whites—
until one day
White privilege will cease to exist

Until that manifests, and it will
I won't pretend to understand
what it's like to be you—
nor if I'll witness it come to pass
during my life

But, I will fight regardless
for a future where my grandson
—or his own, isn't viewed
as a privileged White person

but a human despite percentage
of his blood quantum
~
