Second time hosting this competition. Last month's was a lot of fun, and I'm certain this one will be as well.

FINALE SEASON

My sweet son
Do not morn my death
For at the close of winter’s season
We’ll meet at your finale breath

I’ll be there to greet you
Against the light of the opening day
I’ll guild you along
Heaven’s eternal pathway

We’ll paddle down a crystal stream
To a great emerald wood
There we’ll hunt the Golden Stag
Of silver antlers and diamond hoof

In this land of sky blue waters
You and I will camp together
Where both the hunter, and the hunted
Live on forever, and ever

If this picture holds
a thousand words
then words
should hold
a thousand pictures
that lay deep within
the meaning
of those words
you are reading
when you
feel them

Tiger Heart🐅

( a Quatern )

The endless jungle in the city’s lights,
Where drama plays out like a lonely rhyme.
The constant day within my huntress’ nights,
To stalk and seek a road kill’s only crime.

A tightness in my gut from hunger’s pain,
The endless jungle in the city’s lights.
From lack of sleep, a burning in my brain,
To have me wander senseless in my flights.

I smell the lichen from a water’s mist,
It grows upon the bounty of a glen.
The endless jungle in the city’s lights,
I know not how I found it, where or when.

They look at me as if I’ve just been kissed,
The creatures of these magical delights.
That hide in heart of highrises amidst
The endless jungle in the city’s lights.

Little Eternity

As the years pass by her memory fades away,
The story of her youth and all ties that bind,
But in between the happiness and sadness,
There’s one recollection she never left behind.

Her eyes tell a narrative with so few words,
You'd swear you were watching it on a screen,
The secrets of her heart whisper such a tale,
You’d feel her emotions better than a dream.

It’s been over six decades since that time,
When she cradled those twins in her arms,
The world seemed so young in those days,
Growing up in rural areas and family farms.

But as fate would have it she lost them both,
Feel the heartbreak with a pause in her voice
,
Then some years later a house fire took it all,
Her most prized possession, a portrait of her boys.

It’s been over six decades since that time,
No pictures or depictions of her brief maternity,
Nothing but a cherished memory of them,
A treasured image of their little eternity.

Sometimes she imagines them with a smile,
Their spirits running free, never growing old,
Like a light that dwells deep in her heart,
That even until this day still warms her soul.

This is a sad, but sweet poem, wallyroo92. Despite the melancholy, I couldn't help but smile at the happier memories of the mother with her boys. Thanks for participating in my competition!
