I don’t know if it’s his accordion
Or his God awful looking getup

Got hooked on his music
Sippin' Jacks as a kid
Stood up to his uncle Sam
And told him "Fuck You too!"
Said I won't be defined
When he sang about A Boy Named Sue
Sang the Folsom Prison Blues
For men like my dad
Stripped of their humanity
His strummin' was all they had
Hound dog's voice kissed
His boom-chicka-boom sound
Sang of Ira Hayes who
Died face down in the ground
Not a drop of Native blood
Could he claim in his veins
But poor was poor
And he sang of those pains
Sang high pitched gospel
A December night not to forget
There was Elvis, Jerry and Carl
A true Million Dollar Quartet
The Man in Black couldn't truly
Walk the Line
Speed and booze robbed him
One Piece at a Time
I still sip my Jacks
Listening to his country sway
I may feel Hurt but that good ol' boy
Always eases my day

orchids frame the portals of her executioner's escape
though she's never seen the bitch in her true form
just dressed as a White Lady
her whorish twin pimped out in small doses
by the same men who own her and her melodies
she sings of Strange Fruit
dangling above magnolias in Georgia
and bluebonnets in Texas
nectar of the fruit
fall like sunflower seeds
blackened husks cracked open
and spit out
only the flesh is needed for consumption
so till the soil with more shit
as long as it all looks
pretty
Houses Of The Holy
Apricot heat of
the sun
unseen
beats on little
washed-out buttcheeks
What palisades pull
upon your rawboned
knees?
Will your twiggy
limbs lunge through
The Crunge
& faintedly find reprieve?
Or,
will there be
No Quarter
for sallow souls as these?
Dancing through Days
(No, I know you "ain't disclosing no names"!)
on the anti-rain
plane
Naked love
Over Hills they came
& naked in pain
down & dusty...
away again

For the album cover comp. Led Zeppelin' s Houses Of The Holy album cover has always delightfully confused me, ever since I remember seeing it as a wee thing. There are bits and additions for fans couched in here :)

Slot Machines in Spacestations
Beneath arch windows the mole graphs a ladder, with poisoned morals, and watches the fireworks
Denim cloaked nuns insult his memories caught on tape
With concrete chocolate and fleas in his cot, he ties his purse, balance sheet his skylight
Takes a reindeer to the pharmacy
Buys a general saucepan and a leather massage for a minute
Screwdriving a fleeting amplifier, fleas gingerly foster his scarfs colours
Flowerpot cooking under the moon, essays are a wheelbarrow
In a box
Pebbles for herbs bank and cripple his horsepower
Judo, screw it, lipsticked giraffes dance laughingly in the valley
Measuring raviolis, flighty leaf eaters skedaddle from sausage bombs
Dolphins in a cherry stampede, fish tear tissue in the inn
Leaf eaters...
Bar hammering stains their escape, greases the church pillars
