I chant ease
Breathe comes from deep spaces
Emptying volumes of my youth
Into gentle hands creased by years
Weathered the pale blue of opaque
Her skin cool to my hot pour of burning youthful tears
She strokes my hair into neat parts
Then twists the thick long auborn ropes
Into perfects braids pulled back tight
Off freckle spitted forhead red with fever
Where pats of her damp green cloth
Offer cool resting places for a summers breeze
And she sings to me her favorite song
about a man from Pike and beloved Betsey his wife
on honeymoons journey down rage of river through the mighty deep Grand Canyons Cut
Her lilt of voice takes me away from my pain
And through the cold spray and wild roaring white waters that churn and wind with awesome rush through an ancient gorge
The fight to keep afloat on shakey soaked
Wooden Planks proved no match for the pound and thrash into the Grand Old Canyons Megolith tower of wall
I hear Grama's lovely voice break
As she sings their melody of death
The man and sweet Betsey his wife the loss of their new love and life move my little heart to soar
And I am tossed Into bright light
Over Grand Canyon and roar
Out of body hot with fever and i swirl up and into great widening circles of blue liģht
And look down at my Grama still singing ever spreading circles of love

Light of the Surface
I grasp the earth
Between my fingers
I grasp all the
Knowledge of the
Years of this trotted
Land.
I hold
Only the purity
That the earth
Can give.
She's intwined
Me all my life
I've been beautifully
Wrapped in a light
In an air
That brings me
Life
Feel her breathe
In the wind
And sing
Through the forest
I've been held
Down onto this
Land
But it fills my
Spirit
With bird songs
And blushing
Sunsets
Things that lift
Me farther and
Stronger than
Gravity
Can keep me
Grounded.
The spirit of
The earth
Answers back
To me
Sifting between
My fingers
Sand and soil
Grass and sea
I know them
All and they
All know me.
Between my fingers
I grasp all the
Knowledge of the
Years of this trotted
Land.

Life and death, the unseen battle,
Oh please sweet spirit child,
Take no heed of them grotesque trees.
Whistling desolation lullabies,
Nor the raggedy stars hanging
In a rotten purple sky.
Beckoning your name to land of the dead.
Oh sweet spirit child,
Look at the crumbling gravel beneath your feet.
The wind will blow, the crows entice,
And all roads will depart into a contorted mists,
There is no memories in these rivers of
Dreaming fogs.
Only fields of illusion green,
Oh please don't go sweet spirit child,
To where the water meets the wild,
It is there that death awaits
Upon his mirrored lake,
Silently implacablably,
On a raft of decaying reeds.
Oh sweet spirit child,
Do you feel tears dripping upon serene skin.
Your mother making promises
She will keep,
"I will never leave you thou
This world is hard, this world is cruel,
my love is true only white innocence
Burns in my heart for you
Come back to us sweet spirit child".

Your Majesty, I'm honored by your presence. Simply reply to people's poetry to build up your comments (I think you need 26, if I remember correctly). New members can't directly post links due to spam. If you've posted your poem in the regular forum, then click the "Enter Competition" button and you should get a drop-down list of your poetry to select from.
If it's not allowing you to do that let me know and I'll take it to the Mistress.
Welcome to the Deep Side.

Thank you, it's an amazing entry.
Do you have an accompanying image? A portion of the judging is for both the poetry and image. If you've posted in the forum you can add the link to the poem here so I can view the image. Or, you can post the image here with your entry.

I Sing...
took my worries
in your hands
made my soul
understand
your grace & love
I wasn’t good at
being alone
you guided me from
where roamed
you gave a hope
you answered me
to all my prayers
your grace was
and it’s sufficient
in you I abide
all the weight
of this world
disappeared
with your words
and I sing…
I sing Hallelujah!
I sing Hallelujah!
I sing Hallelujah!
I sing Hallelujah!
and
I sing Hallelujah!
I sing Hallelujah!
I sing Hallelujah!
I sing Hallelujah!
