Quick update:  On the topic of competitions.   If you're hosting a competition, it's certainly fine to submit your own entries into the comp, but if the comp gets sent to vote, that actually enables the host to receive votes for their submission, which is sort of not the way competitions are meant to go, with the host winning or getting runner up.  So, if you know you're going to request a public vote, please remove your own submissions from the comp you're hosting, before it gets sent to vote.  If a comp is abandoned and we need to step in, we'll do our best to catch any host entries before hitting the magic "vote" button, but any help is much appreciated in advance!

Sending out a call for votes --we have 5 abandoned comps that need winners chosen, so if anyone has time for some read-throughs and vote casting, it's much appreciated. Thanks for your help !

Sending out my thoughts in the form of an announcement regarding the Samantha Red business of late: since Craic locked his thread, I don't see fit in this case to undo another mod's actions, so I'll put it here.

We are working on sorting out the matter of there being possible multiple users on that account, please let us do our job without leaving nasty-grams of your own on the SR user's poems, outing other members and / or announcing aliases or real names of people here.

Regardless of who's done or said whatever to others around here, there are privacy issues that apply to all, and unless someone has given permission or outed/revealed themselves, purposefully & willimgly, it's not up to anyone else to do it for them.

Any misuse of accounts need to be reported to mods/admin, and we will attend to it and "announce" things on an as needed basis depending on the circumstance and severity of, and if it's something that the DUP community needs to be alerted/aware of.

If you have been a victim of another user/member here--report it, give details, and rest assured we're working on it.

If you're on the giving end of such activities and are partaking in account misuse, trolling, spamming, harassment, general hi jinks that are however hurtful to others, plagiarism or have some other vendetta you are seeking to fill--knock it off already, grow up, and act like the adult you supposedly are.

Yeah there was a lot of crap going on here in the not too distant past, but we cleaned it up, did our best, and continue to do our best to keep DUP a welcoming and upstanding site to be a part of.  So in otherwords, if you're still stewing over past issues, it's time to get over it and move on.  If you have a current gripe, we'll be more than happy to accommodate you in sorting it out.

Deleted by myself... Due to the person I was annoyed at in this seems to not be involved and has allegedly not been on this site in a long time, Nonetheless, the Samantha profile was still using pictures of Vic Hollo (fashion designer) ? So unless she is Vic, the profile is suspect and I have no clue who is behind any of that side of this drama whether it be seven or one person. I only heard of that issue the same time as every one else. And I still agree with it being publicly brought to light without names being mentioned.


Just wanted to clarify why I deleted my OP.

My biggest gripe, is everyone on here seems to know who screwed with my Pm, used my name to comment on another DUP user, but me.And other things that only Admid knows. Wtf ! I want to be pm with any information.  Im getting sick of this shit. Lepp took your advice thanks.

As I told the Leppster in a PM, I don't appreciate stumbling across a profile feigning to have a terminal illness. That ranks as one of the lowest forms of trolling, especially to those of us who have lost loved ones to cancer.

I hope to see all the profiles names associated with the Sam Red account released   and the multiple users behind "her" permabanned.

Likewise as disgusting is using depression and supposed attempts at suicide or faking self harm to garner additional attention.

We're working on it, awaiting more info from the person who originally contacted us about this, and we'll update as soon as we know more. Just for the record , admin was probably the last to know, as we just found out ourselves, but rest assured, we're on it.

Ok, update everyone: I removed/hid the Samantha Red, thread, that's been going on as personally I now believe that there isn't as much going on as originally thought.  I've been in a private conversation with one of our members involved in this, and I think there is an amplified perception of some wrong doing, but the question still remains as to whether or not the Samantha account is being used by multiple members and for what purpose.  If anyone has information they'd like to share, please PM me or any of the other mods and we'll look into it further.  Thanks!

Google is a browser and I don't think it would have the power to shut down anybodies forum if google has no ownership of that forum. That would only be down to the power of the law or the owners of this forum.

An update of sorts:

in all my years here, yesterday was one of the sadest days. both myself, and Madam Lavender with help from Webmiss and some members of the site have got close to the bottom of the allegations made

There are three accounts attached to the Sam-Red accounts. all three have been idol for over 500 days.

it's been said before, clearly needs saying again:

know who you're talking to before you give someone here your home address.

know who you're talking to before you let yourself get emotionally involved with someone here

if you have a friend here and you notice
he or she is having problems. be a friend

The thread was an integral part of figuring out exactly what was  happening, we were able to rule out most of the people who were accused

I can't emphasize enough the amount of time and effort Doc Lavender spent working on this, and that's because it's something which is taken very seriously   ..and seriously,  the lady deserves some kind of medal

also the members who gave their time  ĐŲ

far as the present Sam-Red account goes:  apart from being a fake account
which posted some malicious comments, and implied it was dying of cancer, there is no conclusive evidence the account was used to target a member's emotions.

However,  Sam-Red is definitely not Vic Hollo and the account activities scream deception

I oppologise for any distress caused to members during the last couple of days. what needs must and all that jazz

I've had to ban Gabriel. I like him a lot, but he seems to be going through a very trying time.
